I use twin thread bite screws normally . Stainless ones seem to be std thread as an observation. I use old silicone tube contents for screw lube, works a treat and gets you many more hours of battery time :D

I've heard of "pick up" but again don't know what that is ?
Having a learn in tonight :thumbs

Pick up is if you use say A2 nuts and bolts and do them up tight enough to hold prior to adjustment then try to undo them to make the adjustment they weld themselves together and most times sheer off if need to undo, now use silicon grease on all of these jobs, Rick

Ah yes I've had that a few times. Now I know why, thanks Rick :thumbs

Calipers cleaned . Sliders re-greased. More black :sly New pads :thumbs

Discs skimmed .New bearings in the hub and new grease :D

and finally one quarter fully rebuilt and lovely again :) Well apart from the TCA, that's going to get new bigger rose joints :naughty

All I have to do now is repeat on the other side :clap

The "OTHER" side :/

I've turned the truck round now, 1st drive in it for 3 years
Anyway, we had a session on it again tonight. The boy welding up more cheese like chassis nonsense on the rear body mount.:doh
I started on the front end , damn that's festered a bit

It looks bad but really only a little worse than the other side :augie
All stripped off now and ready for some wire brush action again :lol

It'll scrub up

Disgusting Pete!!!! Why aren't you using EBC Green Stuff pads :augie

But on a serious note, really enjoying the write up here and really looking forward to seeing this in the flesh in May :thumb2

Greenpads are gay :lol well offroad anyway. I'd never get them hot enough to need them.
We realised at the weekend that we're running out of time .Weekends arre chokka

only 4 weekends left until may meet:thumb2
was hoping to have my rear heavy duty bumper done but as things are picking up at work I might not get it done anytime soon:(

More cheese changed for steel :D

Can't be much left surely :augie
Anyway the front end is scrubbing up well :)

Disc is being refaced and I've got new balls and bearings to do again while I'm here :clap

Underneath my back end :) Almost there now :augie

Got a few more hours with the wire brush tomorrow I hope then the axle goes back on :clap

Talking of axles, the only bloody thing I couldn't get orff ! One stuborn panhard bush , so I killed it with fire :sly

Axle is ready for refit now :D

Back in the room :sly

Time to rebuild the rear brakes tomorrow night I hope

Gotta love re-assembly :jump

Looking good.

I just wish that I had the inclination, knowhow and get up and go to do that sort of thing :(

Fantastic day today and got the back axle all braked and finished ;)
Drums all scrubbed up ready for some Alex juice .

Hammerite goes off too quick in the heat !!

Eventually got the shoes and springs all working again. Also my first ever complaint about Milners  The spring kit they send out is rubbish. The springs are out of a Bic biro and the pins are too long :doh Hey ho at least I hadn't binned the old ones :lol

Scrubs up well for an old bus :)

All assembled up and looking all black n sexy :naughty

New brake pipes all done now too :clap

I expect to get my ruddy wheels back on tomorrow . Whoop whoop :D
I did rather over do it on the clean up though, I thought I might as well do the springs too

Anyway after some time :augie

Working on the top coats now , but damn PITA to do :freak3:

Now where's my beer gone ? :beerchug:
