larson

very good point .........but wheres your sense of adventure :D:D:D:D:D:D

must admit Im gutted, i was going to convert my jeep to svo but she who must be obeyed pulled a face which basically meant no :lol:lol:lol

My view for what its worth....

Firstly, What I cannot understand about all of this is whats the point, firstly we have 2 blokes bickering, 1 saying look at my cv and the other says blah blah blah and then we have poor old Briggie Pete trying to play the role of the UN and whats it all about NOWT.... what bugs me is this... When I brought my Maverick I knew what I was getting into ........ rough ride noisey old derv engine, high maintenance costs etc etc but I went ahead and brought anyway, whats the point you may say well heres the punchline fellas DO WHAT IT SAYS WHEN YOU FLIP THE FLAP AND READ "DIESEL" Put DIESEL in it and then with a little luck you can quote an oldsaying "IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT" Like my old fella used to say when running a 3.5 litre Rover "IF YOU BUY THE DONKEY THEN IT WILL NEED FEEDING" So thats my view and I will be putting only "DIESEL" in mine and when it gets to the point when I feel its getting thirsty I will no doubt sell it and buy something that does MORE MPG, LESS NOISEY, AND CHEAPER RUNNING COSTS.... or if money gets really tight I will buy a moped etc
So there we have it so can we get back to helping one another out and trying to keep these oldish wonderful underestimated 4x4s on the road:cool::cool::cool:

be fair, i only retorted with the cv as a defence

but otherwise

aww come on, youre just being awkward now, childish in in fact.

Lets explain............you said it had killed your car. Now I may be wrong in the presumption you put it in the fuel tank. Next thing your saying you will only ever use diesel. the engine wouldnt start.

You dont have to be a rocket scientist to reach a conclusion. stop back pedaling.

You are doing exactly what I politely suggested you didnt by inferring the content of the pm was not appropriate and using the word "contempt"

that message was a civil open offer and explanation of where to go with this. I am completely happy for it to be published in the public forum to prove that. there was nothing rude or inappropriate in it.

I'm not back peddling mealy trying to ppoint out what i've said but seems to be falling on def ears...

So...

I'll say it again here...

SUN FLOWER OIL blocked the filter housing, burnt the glow plugs & left the fuel pump inoperative. FACT.!

I won't & wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

Vegetable Oil & Bio Diesel i would.

& with regards to the email, if people think i chat $hit or act childish then please pm me

I have pm'd our leader & said if that's how people feel then i will leave the site as i'm not staying where i'm not wanted.!

Ball's in your court folk's.!

Daved I am being fair, I personally was impressed with your c.v then I thought about the old boy who lives across the road and keeps telling me that hes being driving for 64 yrs, impressive one may think, but it dont make him a good driver, see my point and please dont come and start arguing with me as I will just shut off the computer and carry on watching this crap x factor sh"ite, ALLS I SAID WAS 1 BLOKE QUOTES HIS CV AND ANOTHER GOES BLAH BLAH, I thought I was being fair and Im no Pete(briggie) this guy dont do UN politics He just says it as it is and the fact of the matter is that its a free country and adz can put milk into his 4x4 if he wants and you are allowed to criticise, Unless its changed whilst Ive been asleep we have a thing called "FREESPEECH" in this country and to all others please dont start on saying we dont as its been a bad day and I will take me ball and laptop and PI"S OFF AND LEAVE YOU ALL TO IT:lol :lol :lol

hey monty i have no problems with your comments. Ive done loads of stupid things, been in loads of dodgy corners and genuinely count myself lucky to still be here. Rolling a landrover down a hill just after my oppo unhitched the trailer which also made its way down the hill being one of them (in context with the froum of curse)

One thing you will never ever see in my cv is an entry saying "perfect" more likely "been there, done it, got the t shirt and ****ed up too" i only comment where im confident i have some knowledge ;):)

daved, I wouldnt employ you if your cv said "perfect" ANYWHERE ON IT,thats just common sense, and I dont think you are really trying to say you are anyway, what I think you are trying to say is YOU would of said "I FU"""ED UP, am I right ME thinks so, Well, YOU may be able to say this but please dont think that everyones the same as you or I will then be able to compare you with the old guy across the road who ACTUALLY is a crap driver he probably was ok years ago but he thinks he is ok now if you get my drift, How can I say this "WELL ITS LIKE A 747 BACKING OUT OF THE GARAGE AND HIS LAST CLUTCH LASTED 900 MILES " so thats my OPINION... Just think of all this as a experience that comes along and after its all done with, you will have your OPINION and ADZ will have his, ITS CALLED LIFE thats why we are all different.......

Having read this thread and been involved behind the scenes for the last hour or so, I have to say I'm appalled....

Sorry to hear that that & i hope it was quick & painless as i to have lost friends & family in motor vehicle accidents. Has to be one of the worst ways to go & one of the most painful news to deliver...

MAY I SUGGEST YOU AGREE TO DISAGREE , THEREBY YOU BOTH ARE CORRECT , AND IT ENDS ? .......HOPEFULLY :thumb2
