Hi all looks like I need to replace the outer cv boot on the drivers side , can I get away with only removing the one ball joint either top or bottom along with the track rod end ?? Any tips as bad things always seem to happen when it comes down to maintenance :doh

Easy peasy, but you wont do it without one of these;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bailcast-...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ec8957c9a

Wheel Off, Remove Brake Calliper (x2 19mm) bolts, remove auto hub (if you have one x6 Size 6 Allen Key Head, remove circlip with circlip pliers, remove brake ring etc and the rest of the auto hub gubbins taking care to make sure you know what order they came off, remove the disc and all bearings.

Undo upper ball joint, lower ball joint and outer tie rod end castle nuts, remove the hub leaving just the shaft, place your cone over, slip the boot on and re-fit reverse of removal

Hi again where will I find that workshop manual ?

I managed to do mine with the balljoints in place.......had to remove the lower damper mounting bolt & shift the damper out of the way though. The mounting bracket is really in the way too, & needs to be gently hammered out of position to allow the outer CV joint to clear it once the inboard bolts are removed. A bit of heat allows you to bend it back into position as long as you take care. I was desperate not to remove the balljoints though, & if I was doing it again I'd take the hub out completely & replace the balljoints (if necessary) while I was at it :augie
