Poor Repairs

It gets worse.

Garage has just phoned to say they can't get the stub axle and other parts. Apparently the 3.0 litre is different to the 2.7.

They've now asked if I can get the parts

Bulls**t, I am 99% sure there is no difference in any parts other than engine, transmission and diff ratios.

On the ZD30 the front stubs are listed as: 400147F001 & 400157F001
On the 2.7L the front stubs are listed as: 400147F001 & 400157F001

I suspect all he can find in a breakers is the NON ABS variant which was never fitted to the ZD30 model!

Wow amazing guys those part numbers are amazing.

I was at work and trying to post between people walking past. Anyhoo I told him that I'd send a text to check but at the end of the day if he can't get them he either purchases the parts from a nissan dealer or buys the car off me. Funnily enough he called back later to say he had located the parts and would be sending his lad for them and all being well the car would be ready tonight. I did tell him that I have tickets for the Air Tattoo tomorrow as well which isn't a lie. I also told him that I want the old parts as spares as apparently they are coming as complete hubs with discs and everything. Again went past and it's still lifted on his ramps. Looking like my son my have to collect the truck tomorrow for me.

Anyone want to buy a 3litre Terrano:doh

I truly admire your stoicism. I'd probably have set fire to this place by now, if it were my car...

Definitively involve authorities (I agree with others here you should have done it from the moment the first bodged repair became apparent).

Well what's done is done now, no real evidence I suppose now. Still in his garage, I'm guessing it'll be ready tomorrow but that's not a lot of use to me as I'll not hear the phone ringing for all the jet noise. Off to the Air Tattoo tomorrow so if it is ready I'll have to hope my son can pick it up for me. Have to say when I does arrive back I'll be jacking it up to have a really good look around to check it before we drive it.

Yes hub wise the only difference is ABS or non ABS, I have ABS spares, Rick

Well as expected on track record I had to call the garage from the Air Tattoo at lunchtime. The car was ready! I had to remind them about how I have been inconvenienced so they would stay open until my son got there to pick the car up. My son picked it up for me but I told him drive it home and leave it. I've had a quick look but I want to jack it up and take a look properly before we use it. This won't happen until maybe Tuesday evening as I'm busy tomorrow and Monday evening. As agreed and I reminded him to leave the old bits in the boot.

The young lad told me the droplinks have movement in them, sod off your not touching my cars again.
