it's easier to take the entire roof lining out altogether, do you want some replacement parts, ive got some panels and visors if wanted:)

it's not to hard to remove

Just undo it only takes half an hour ish :rolleyes:
Middle foot may need a quick trim with Mr angle grinder :D
There is room DONT PANIC carry on :cool:

I've found that if I leave the middle foot off and just put the metal inside the rubber foot it's perfect, do you have any rough measurements I can go by from when you fitted yours?

whats the length of yours (just the rails to where they meet back and front arms). As Mine was longer than petes and required cutting shorter.

he's thinking somthing up:augie

Well the roof lining is out but I'm def going to need a new one now anyway as this one already had loads of marks on it so i just ragged it out and there are creases everywhere (I get very impatient) lol

It looks at the front as if there is a 2nd piece of metal that has been spot welded onto the roof as like re-enforcement and I'm worried that its going to come through there and that it wont be long enough to come through to get the nut on :S :(:(:(

58 Inches without legs and feet, i'm sure they are way too long!!!

sorry, i dont have a swb lining, as the one that i taken out my swb, was disgusting:eek: when you say metal do you mean the re enforcing strips that go across the roof?

Front of foot is 80mm back from the edge of the windscreen. It's 40mm in from the door edge. My rail length is about 1350mm, can't be dead accurate as my sopt light bar covers the join.
Thinking back on my fit I'm pretty sure I just helped the bar a bit to follow the roof shape :naughty

Well in mm my rail measures 1470mm with no legs on it, just end to end :S why is mine so big???

If I go by your measurements, the rear of the rail hangs off the car!!!

Mine were too long too.

Not hard to cut them down and make new slots.

So yours are 1350mm give or take a few roughly?
I'm going to make them smaller then tomorrow, thank GOD I didn't just go for it and drill my roof, I knew something was wrong!!!

Ok then, so today I bit the bullet :) fetched a Bosch angle grinder from Argos this morning which was reasonably priced and even got another pack of 5 cutting discs for half price with it.

Got back and trimmed the rails down from 1470mm to 1350mm as recommended by makeitfit, placed them back on the roof to measure up again and bingo :), they were going to come through where I expected.

Here was a pic of the roof lining out;

Here was me mid way through lol;

There's a view of one of the back ones from the top and bottom;

The front was a little trickier as there is so little room up front because of the position of the sunroof;

Here was my sealant job on one of the rear ones, from this I learned that I could be an excellent Ice Cream man haha;

Now I need some more advice, when I attached the roof rails on the roof I noticed that the legs have a sort of tensioning system with a loop of rubber that gets tighter when the hex head is tightened. But when the rails are attached how do I gain access to these hex heads to tighten them, or do they have to be tightened before they are attached and is there a technique as to how they have to be magically bent on lol, it looks physically impossible to me I'm confused.

I tried to tighten the hex heads as tight as I could but when doing that I couldn't attach them as they were solid to the car but yet when they are looseish I can attach them but they are really loose and rattle to the touch if all that makes sense :S

Can anyone advise as to how they attach? I've got the feet firmly attached as you can see and am itching to attach the rails and bars :D

Cheers guys
