Yep completely agree with that, it was killing me welding on the ground, with the hoist it is so so much better, a very worthwhile investment, I just need to raise my workshop roof a foot or so to enable it to go to full height, as I am 6ft and would love to be able to stand upright under a T2, Rick

Back in Black

Well that's my bottom cleaned sealed and back in black :D

Chassis will get a proper coating when I get to the motor factors again :doh

Onwards

Inner wings have had a refreshing coat of underseal , just to be sure :D

N/S also done and also some re-assembly going on :thumbs

Onwards

Build a reserve too and put a tap in for switching over :D

This is going to be big enough for two :D
Anyway after a bit, I made this mock up

The gap at the top is to let the winch rope run past .

The sides do angle in to allow for the curves in the chassis.

First trial exposed a few tweaks needed :doh but getting there. Will need to trim back the bottom corners too me thinks.

Side view . Again I'll increase the angle at the back a bit more.

Now just need to unpick it and get some folding done. Then plug in the boy for some welding porn :naughty

Do you need to mount it outside on the rear, do you not have room inside at the back, that is what I was going to do till I got busy work wise, Rick

I'm keeping the back inside as clear as poss as I need the spare 35" to be inside. I will be reducing the ht by about 30mm though.

Plus it's another feather in the boy's cap I hope ;) and I can get some distance covered

That's gonna be special Pete, what thickness plate you using?, and what you doing for fuel gauge?, eyeball?

2mm plate and original gauge sender unit :thumbs
Here's the MK2 version with a little more room for error :augie

Existing sender unit and swirl pot thing will be reused, although I will need to extend the pipe to take advantage of my extra depth.

A bit of creative bending for the float and low fuel gizmo and all should be good.
Steel being folded tomorrow :naughty

It'll get a waxoil after MOT
Body will get a lick of paint . Quicker than cleaning it :lol

Get this, a mechanic I know is going to pay someone £760 to effing clean his car :nenau, and thats only the bronze package, goes upto platinum. Back when I was in motor trade I could have bought five cars for that and almost doubled my money

Whoo hoo, only got the ruddy diff fitted at last. Darn it's a heavy awkward beeatch
Luckily for me my strong arm son was at hand to be first row prop :D

I can't believe how snug the whole thing is , managed to scuff the paint :lol
Anyway drive shafts going on , then torsion bars.

I had a senior moment too, I painted over my index marks for the torsion bars :doh Ah well back to basics tomorrow :augie
Onwards.
