    Clutch swap questions

I agree with Rick, You dont need a 3.0 clutch if your not messing about with the power, When I put the 3.0 in mine at 104,000 it had the original clutch in it and probably would have done another 100,000 mine turned out to be the release bearing but as I already had the clutch I put the full lot...

    spare wheel lift

Are you trying to suggest that we who drive terrano's are fat and need to lose weight? Or will those magic pill's your peddling make the spare wheel sit higher on the door if we drop 2 in the tank. Im only asking as I always thought the pill's for making things rise were blue and you can now get...

    valve guide replacment

You generally dont see stem seal wear or valve guide wear on a diesel until the head is removed and stripped and you can physically see them. After all diesel is heavy oil and you dont really notice the extra smoke as you would in a petrol, Its head off and stripped down to do it. This is a...

    Strange noise!

That's why you take it before your MOT runs out the rules state: Driving a vehicle that’s failed You can take your vehicle away if: your current MOT certificate is still valid no ‘dangerous’ problems were listed in the MOT Otherwise, you’ll need to get it repaired before you can drive. You...

    Engine oil pressure

Its about right that Pete I wouldnt worry, Oil pressure can be a bit high when cold hence why you take a reading when the engines up to temp. If your worried stick a manual gauge on fire it up and watch it, It will soon come down as things warm up :).

    S157 FWL - Y61 LWB 2.8 Nissan Patrol GR

Take thats just the keyway for the front pulley? If it is new key welded in place tidied up with a die grinder front pulley back on and bolted up tight. Should be fine like that.

    Engine rebuild and power mods

Good job Pete, I think people have got a bit confused here with what plastigauge is used for. Its actually used for sizing crank bearings up the idea is you put a piece on the crank and tighten a main or big end cap down then measure the squish to show the size of bearing needed like so. But...

    Engine rebuild and power mods

Ive used plastigauge once and it was a thou out which in engine building terms is a no no. Can't beat a proper micrometer they're not that much these days.
