I had a look for the connector on my 2.4 Terrano, seems to be a 14 pin. I did a forum and internet search and couldn’t find much on the 2.4 code reading and data collection, seems to be mostly diesel related. Are there any peramaters that can be adjusted on the 2.4?

No nothing you can adjust, but you can read fault codes just the same as the diesels, the 2.4's had an ECU when the diesels did not until they were inter-cooled, worth keeping an eye on the MAF and vac hoses, Rick

Thanks Rick. I have no desperate need at the moment to look into the ECU or codes but being able to would be nice. I have couple of different code readers and access to others but not the older Nissan specific.

I need a favor please guys, pretty pretty please :bow :bow :bow

Can I please get a picture of the wires that go into the rear of the 14 PIN Consult style plug on one of the earlier trucks please.

Then.....

I need a picture of the wires that go into a 16 PIN plug that DOESN'T have the K-Line pin fitted which is the 2nd Pin from the left on the bottom row as you look at the plug in situe.

From memory the 14 PIN plugs used to dangle free so shouldn't be an issue to get a picture of the wring in the rear of the plug, however the 16 PIN is usually secured in place with a bracket but still easily removed by pushing a tag on the right hand side, very clear to see how to release it when you are there.

I've got the 16 PIN with K-Line on PIN 7 fitted, once we have all these pictures I should have pinouts for all 3 varients of Terrano diagnostic plug, then it's just a cas eof getting the 16 PIN working, it's one of my new years resolution so I must solve this!!!!

Pics like these please

I hope these are clear enough. I can not open the door fully in the drive, last time I got into this position to take the photos, I must have been a lot more supple :thumbs

Rob I can't really see the wire colors on your pictures I'm afraid, they are a little too blurred. You couldn't have another look at some point for me and grab me another? I'm trying to compare the wire colors to mine so I can wire up my Consult adaptor in the same fashion as RayF did as he reckons his worked on his truck without K-Line fitted so I guess it has to just be a wiring configuration difference at the plug :nenau

Thanks

Thought they might be, will try again Friday:thumb2

Thanks mate, I appreciate the efforts :thumb2

Really want to get a working DIY diagnostics solution for the 16 PIN guys :thumb2

Try again

I removed the panel as I was changing the power supply for my new satnav. This gave a lot more space to play.

The Other Side

These are clearer, I managed between showers. Glad it gave me a chance to rewire the satnav I hate cables running from the cigar lighter. All the best.
