    Loss of power

Yes, it was a relief to be something straight forward and not expensive!

    Maveric Jerking

Yeah, I'd go with the cheap and relatively easy fixes first. Fuel filter would be my first port of call. My Terrano had the same symptoms when I put vegetable oil in at too high a concentration when cold. Have you filled up with different fuel recently? Regards, Ian.

    Loss of power

You'd love the powerbox Zippy. I was thinking of giving it away for free at one point...........not!!! :p It would have been 25-30% down on power without it which would have been very noticeable and a problem!

    Loss of power

Thought I'd share my stupidity with you all..... I've got a T reg 2.7 TDi Terrano which has a K&N induction kit and PSi Powerbox. Had been enjoying the extra power until a few days ago when the power level seemed to drop by about 10-20% which wasn't the end of the world but noticeable...

    Compass

Yeah, pretty pointless over here. Think the Americans use them more as their roads are usually more of a grid orientated north/south and east/west (and some yanks aren't too bright bless them!) Lol! Ian.

    what do I do now?????

I think that even with a 1.5 inch body lift I would have needed to trim those bits. It didn't rub on articulation, just on steering where the tyre shoulder caught the plastic. An easy job though. 2 minutes with a hacksaw which easily sliced through the soft plastic and left cuts which are very...

    what do I do now?????

I replaced my four knackered standard 235/75/R15 wranglers for a new set of 31/10.5/R15 Runway Enduro A/T's. Cost £305 all in for the set fitted at my local tyre place (A2 Tyres in Sittingbourne) These were fitted onto the standard steel rims which are on my standard non-lifted truck. The...

    sally up date

Excuse my ignorance, but does this broken drive plate being the offending item and the source of the noise mean that a new engine is not required?:nenau Ian.

    Bargain or waste of effort?

Looks worth a punt! Same thing available even cheaper here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB2-0-Solar-Battery-Panel-Charger-Cell-Phone-MP3-/360259102552?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_ConsumerElectronics_Batteries_SM&hash=item53e11da758 :thumb2 Wouldn't expect quick delivery from Hong Kong though. Regards, Ian.

    Sunflower Oil £5 for 6Ltr & Tesco

Veggie oil from Bookers cost £15.60 for 20L tin (78ppl) Didn't need a pump. I pierced the top of the tin and poured the oil out of the spout into a large funnel which I had put into the filler cap. Dispenses 20L quicker than a forecourt pump! Ian.

    Birggie's truck

Yeah, same idea. Loads of room and 4x4 (and about the price of a gearbox!:augie) Ian.

    Birggie's truck

Not that I think you should swap the Mistral for anything else just yet (until it properly breaks or someone properly diagnoses it to be beyond repair), but one of these would be perfect (but still old and therefore likely to need work at some stage) - Mitsubishi Delica (4x4 people carrier!) -...

    Birggie's truck

I agree. I would just drive the fooking thing. I bought my wife an old 2.5L petrol Jeep Cherokee a few years back for £900. This had the same knocking sound when we got it (I suspected engine bearings) so I just stuck some molyslip into the oil and it just kept going for years and years until...

I was getting bored of politics until....

I found out that we have a Monster Raving Loony Party candidate standing in our constituency. I took a look at their website - www.omrlp.com After reading their "manicfesto" which is brilliantly funny, I now feel a lot happier about politics. Ian.

    Sunflower Oil £5 for 6Ltr & Tesco

It's a great feeling pouring the veg oil in and then driving around for much less than you would otherwise have been! You'll get strange looks while pouring it in which is fun. Enjoy!

Why do i now sound like a bus, or maybe a Subaru?

Recently fitted a K&N induction kit myself. Don't you find that these extra noises put a smile on your face? That's the most important thing! :) Ian.

    Update on sally

When I used to have an old 3.5L V8 Range Rover with an auto box the crappy old factory cooler which looked like a copper pipe with wire fins on it started leaking so needed replacing. I couldn't find a genuine replacement so after much searching and investigation I found and fitted an...

    legalities using cooking oil

Went to Brookers cash and carry yesterday. Bought 80 litres (4 x 20L tins) of new veg oil for £62 which is 78p per litre! Worked out that this will save £35 on what the same amount of diesel would have cost at £1.22 per litre. Will use it at 50% with regular diesel until I'm happy that there...

    Update on sally

If they are looking after you is it worth telling us who they are and giving them some positive publicity? Or would you rather wait until they have successfully finished the job for you before you name them? Ian.
