Thanks mud life crisis/ Brian thats a big help and I will have a look in the morning its seems that for some reason its well down at the front maybe because some fool has fitted the wrong tyres (smaller) and then lowered the front via the torsion bars- what do you think?????

Extreme, thanks for the info I have 2.5 inches of difference at the moment from the rear of the front wheel to the front of the rear wheel whats that on a lwb version 6/7 foot at the most id say, now that weve/youve got that out of the way, What causes torsion bar sag? and zippy or briggie can you help with what to do manuals wise or thread links etc,,,, oh and briggie fancy saying keep to the standard size you didnt think that when you asked youre welsh rig doctor to upgrade you stalker did you.... lol hahaha got you there pete. :clap:clap :clap :clap:clap

good point :thumb2

Sorry Brian I was writing whilst you were posting....lol Winter time is going to be taken up with typing course me thinks :lol

just out of interest .... dirty harry is on itv at 10.30 :lol

Mine is fitted with 235 75 R15 MTs.

Front is set about 1/2 inch lower than back. Rear springs and shocks are original with 140k miles so the back is probably lower than it should be.

But still plenty of room left for bigger tyres if required

Brian

Brian, That picture dont half tell a story it just proves that the front has nosed dived by a considerable amount I assume you adjust and then go for a quick spin and the re-adjust until you get your correct setting you require

No I just got a guy at work to do it ;O)

but you are right as they will settle.

If I can get it to move upwards then I think Ill invest in new springs and shocks and then re-do the front as you say yours is probably sagged a bit on the rear end after 140k mine done 140k on a N REG so its bound to of done the same... waiting for some smart alec to come in with all this talk of rears and sagging lol

Briggie Dirty Harrys just starte and it says "scenes of nudity and violence" even the itv have been listening to our discussion about sagging rears :clap:clap:clap

Was going to fit uprated springs and gas shocks all round to mine (lot of money) but might just fit new standard shocks on the rear as they seem to have done the job ok for the last 140k.

I replaced my four knackered standard 235/75/R15 wranglers for a new set of 31/10.5/R15 Runway Enduro A/T's. Cost £305 all in for the set fitted at my local tyre place (A2 Tyres in Sittingbourne)

These were fitted onto the standard steel rims which are on my standard non-lifted truck. The speedo now under reads by 5mph at 75mph (sat-nav says 80mph, speedo 75mph). A bit more of a hum at motorway speeds, but nothing intrusive and can still have a conversation without having to shout.

Only had to trim 3 little bits of plastic for the tyres not to rub - The back tip of nearside end of the front bumper and both inner edges of the front mudguards. They came off easily with just a hacksaw.

The tyres have given an extra 1 1/2 inches of clearance under the diff.

Oh, and the lettering isn't blue any more. The protective blue wax came off with a hot soapy sponge.

The truck sat on its new set of boots -

Rear tyre - fits the arch much better -

so where can i get some cheaper!!?? they do similar size to fit 16 rims??

any one!"

pictures, are proof as you say it can be done and thanks to irm750 its looking like this size fom now on, trouble was that the numpty before had lowered the front end drastically to make the tyres that are on a present "look right" as far as the arches are concerned, since doing the torsion bars its a different truck altogether even rides nicer, am just pricing up tyres at the moment and will choose what to brand wise between generals and enduros and maxxis etc, whilst on the subject so to speak has anyone had anything to do with the 1.5 inch body spacers that are listed on the milner website for around 60 odd quid as this plus the torsion bar jobby may well mean that no trimming is necassary. whats the job like to do ----easy, hopefully or is it a job that will sap me patience like the torsion bar job lol

think darwin just fitted a terranosorus 2" body lift , ask him

and id still have the enduro's everytime

I think that even with a 1.5 inch body lift I would have needed to trim those bits. It didn't rub on articulation, just on steering where the tyre shoulder caught the plastic.

An easy job though. 2 minutes with a hacksaw which easily sliced through the soft plastic and left cuts which are very unobtrusive.

As they say - JFDI!:lol
