Just checked the specs for the 3ltr engine, says "Genuine Nissan Anti-freeze Coolant (L2N) or equivelant" whereas the 2.7 specs read "Anti-freeze (Ethelyne Glycol base)"......is this more cause for concern?

Yep, that's my logical way of thinking :) Have emptied the dregs of both bottles into a clear class to see any obvious reaction...nothing (well...purpley looking liquid, no gel as such), so fingers crossed until I get round to flushing the cooling system and re-filling. Cheers :D

Yep, I've seen that as well, but there are also site which say 'no, you shouldn't mix', but ethelune glycol is ethelyne glycol, just different companies use their own colouring of their choice, but in any case refer to vehicle manufacturers recommendations. I just don't want an expensinve job...

Now I'm worried....what happens when you mix red with blue? I had red'ish (near flourescent red/orange, the old bottle said ethelyne glycol) in the tank and all I had to top up was blue (ethelyne glycol, not that old)! I didn't know there was a huge difference between colours.

Ok, tried to knock the security pins out on the screws with a screwdriver....no go, pretty heavy duty! Then got a socket set from Machine Mart, Torx Security etc, the thing is, the Torx are 6 pin star shape whereas the screws on the MAF on my truck are a 5 pin star shape! Any ideas?

haha, sure to get a laugh on here either way...lol I'll have a go with the screwdriver idea first, but still might get the tools for future use. I seem to do that, buy tools for a particular job (car, house etc) then only use them every 5 years or so...lol...always handy to have ;)
