    Diesel smell

GAzz, I've realised that the instructions for intercooler removal are within the glowplug download, you may as well do both jobs together as I understand you've got a glowplug problem as well?

    towing weight!.

Not a big difference in wheelbase, the LWB gets its longer body to a great extent from the longer rear overhang. See, to recall a SWB wheelbase is about 93 inches, and a LWB is about 100 inches.

    Help needed with glow plugs.

If I remember right, the glow plugs for the post 2001 get silly expensive. Have you followed the instructions in the download to check that they are faulty?

    Diesel smell

I don't think there is a download, but the next time I replace these on my wagon I'll do one then. It is a pretty simple job to do. 1) Remove the intercooler (these instructions are within downloads, ? setting tappets) 2) on the left hand side of the engine as you look from the front into the...

    BODY LIFT AND SUSPENSION

Not lifted my wagon yet, but I did adjust the torsion bars to eliminate the sag that had developed, and if you are under the car you are tightening the lower nut on the torsion bar thread to lift it, so you are turning the nut anti-clockwise, as viewed from below.

    New addition to the family

Its the 4wd, we did consider some 2wd that are in motorpoint for the same money, but the Columbia has an excellent trim level. Fingers, good to hear that it pulls well, our van is only a 1200kg van so I'm hoping it will make the longer french trips a doddle.

    Fan question

On my T2 in all weathers except summer the viscous fan doesn't cut in, it is only really in use when towing in the summer & general driving on the continent in summer temps. It wouldn't surprise me if driving in cooler temps did not require a fan. I'd wonder about yours being an auto though...

    New addition to the family

New addition to the family: the Nissan family, that is! http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e319/JonathanMimnagh/P1190056.jpg Its the wife's new car, and a new towcar for us. The Terrano remains in my posession and now it has lost its place as the main vehicle, then it will gradually become...

    Roof Rack mounting

Well, just to update, I looked into the practicalities of fitting the rack direclty, and I'e decided not to, reasons being just practicalities, that seeing as the rack dents fuel consumption I don't want to leave it on with fuel at 1.06 per litre!!! I've purchased some cheap (£21) roof bars...

    Annoying noise from boot area

People have reported problems with the spare wheelholder, either small welds shearing or just general friction. Put some penetrating oil around the mount where it contacts the door, and se if that helps. Some guys have drilled out the spotwelds & replaced with nuts & bolts as a cure.

Installation of CB Radio to Maverick

Useful info,I bought my CB via e-bay from the CB shack at Pop 2000 services at Lymm, and while they prices were good when I picked it up they were too busy really to offer any help with set up. Might give this guy a try. In terms of where to mount the CB, in my T2 becuase it is a twin airbag...

    Odd smell

Any chance that it could be diesel? My wagon regularly splits the fuel leak off hosing that runs between the injectors, and it does seem that when this has happened if I don't see it under the bonnet I'll get occasional whiffs of what seems like quite a sweet smell as the diesel heats up & off...

Installation of CB Radio to Maverick

If you are not concerned about the bodywork, you can get a mount that will need a hole drilling through and is permanently fixed.

    tyre size

Not quite, when they changed to 16" rims they also fitted 235/70 R16's, slightly lower profile.

Derbyshire Rights of Way Improvement Plan

This is the documentation published from the consultation a few months ago, so provides their must current stance. I received the link in an e-mail from DCC thanking me for taking part in the consultation - I'd assume all contributors would have received it?
