Hi All
It seams that our Terrano was made on Monday in Barcelona, now it is light diesel smell around it most it is near left front fender ( if you is inside it )
any idea ?
The mad Icelander wondering about selling the Terrano for Pajero again

Your fuel filter and main fuel lines are on that side of the engine compartment, check for leaks

I would also check the spill pipes from the injectors for leaks as mine were soaking wet & dripping fuel all over the engine

Its probably a leak from your leak off pipes along the top of the injectors, these are made from rubber and tend to perish over the years, check all the pipes from each injector and also the stop end at the back, the pipe from these down to the injection pump can also leak. You can pick up replacement pipe locally and cut to the required lengths to fit. If one is split its worth your wile to replace the lot.

Thanks, is something about this in the download section ?

I don't think there is a download, but the next time I replace these on my wagon I'll do one then.

It is a pretty simple job to do.

1) Remove the intercooler (these instructions are within downloads, ? setting tappets)

2) on the left hand side of the engine as you look from the front into the engine bay you will see the injectors & the metal fuel pipes, and connecting each injector & the number 1 injector back to the fuel system is a rubber braided coated pipe, 4 sections, 3 between each injector, then a longer section from number 1 injector back to the fuel system. Number 4 injector also has a small blanked off cap, on mine a 3 cm section of hose with a screw in the end to seal it.

3) Remove each ection of hose individually, cut a new piece to the right length & replace. The tricky one is the long pipe from Number 1 back to the fuel system, I use a long handled clamp to do this job properly. Don;t forget to replace the very short section on number 4 either.

I've had my wagon 3 years, and have done this job 3 times, so it is quite a normal thing to happen. Do sort it becuase if you leave it it can go down the back of the engine and cause a slipping clutch due to fuel contamination.

GAzz, I've realised that the instructions for intercooler removal are within the glowplug download, you may as well do both jobs together as I understand you've got a glowplug problem as well?

Well little update here
I have now changed the fuel filter ( it was very dirty ) and the glow plugs, and dear o dear I have new Terrano it was totally change I do not believe it.
I just love the Terrano again
