    Sleeping in a SWB van

Managed to get a single inflatable into the back, so that will leave space for camping junk up the side. If I was staying any longer than a night I think I would take out the passenger seat and add a raised floor so the bed is more level. Once your on the bed tho it doesn't seem to bad! Is...

    Sleeping in a SWB van

Yes, was thinking that with mine, no handle so will need to scramble in through the drivers door! Thinking now i can remove the part timber bulkhead, push the passenger seat forward and fold it as far forward as it will go, then an airbed would probably fit in the space thats left. The...

    Sleeping in a SWB van

That looks ideal, but due to it being a van, I have a raised false floor where the rear seats would be, meaning the front seats don't fold flat!

    Sleeping in a SWB van

I'm heading away for a weekend with the Austin seven, and thinking of taking out the passenger seat, putting in a board and sleeping in the van. Has anyone done this? How are the seats held in, 4 bolts from the top? are they easy enough to remove and replace or is it a bit of a muck about?

    Terrano 2 van weight

Had a look at the plate on the Brian James trailer, it says 350kg unladen and max 1300kg laden so another bit of maths! Terrano - 1730kg Trailer - 350kg Austin 7 - 500kg [very generous!] Total: 2580kg So have around 920kg spare if i grasp the rules correctly

    Terrano 2 van weight

Thanks for the input, the seven i have is a sports model, so considerably lighter than the box saloon, so this allows more space for Beer!! The trailer i have is a Brian James so has the necessary brakes etc, much safer and less likely to get a pull from the police than a home made special!

    Terrano 2 van weight

Reading that site, the 1730 would include rear seats, glass etc, so the van should be a bit lighter? quick calculation: Terrano - 1730kg Trailer - 750kg Austin 7 - 500kg Total: 2980kg So have around 500kg spare for Tent, BBQ & Beer!!

    Terrano 2 van weight

What is the weight of a Terrano 2 swb van? As I passed my test after 1997 I can only tow upto a total gross of 3500kg, so working out of my trailer and austin seven are under the weight!!

    Alloy wheel nuts

Hi, i currently have a set of 16" steel wheels on my van, however a road sweeper crashed into me last week, damaging the drivers wheel. The company have said they will pay for repairs. I have found a set of alloys local enough on ebay, but are the wheel nuts the same for the...

Exhaust - what part do I need?!

Thats the one! its burst at the rear flange! Ive just been out on my lunch break for a look, not holding much hope about getting the 3 bolts out of the engine end. Thinking aloud here, what about cutting the pipe lower down on both and joining with a straight coupling and two exhaust...

Pits are dangerous thing's and i wouldn't have one in my garage, you hear all sorts of storys about fires and folk getting trapped etc! Back in January i was helping a friend move stuff in his garage, a board over the pit wasn't in right, resulting in me falling through the hole, i thought i...
