Hi,

i currently have a set of 16" steel wheels on my van, however a road sweeper crashed into me last week, damaging the drivers wheel.

The company have said they will pay for repairs.

I have found a set of alloys local enough on ebay, but are the wheel nuts the same for the alloys as the steel wheels?

thanks
John

No they are different, the angle of the chamfer is different.

As alloys are thicker than steel at the wheel nut lcation, make sure you have enough thread engagement.

I would be safe and quote them for a semi expensive set of nuts then get them after you get the cash. That way you are covered :thumb2

I have a steel spare wheel, and my alloy wheel nuts fits both.

I was going to say, that I have a metal spare and alloy wheels on the truck, so the nuts must be OK for both types of rim?

I had the same on my 01, 2.7 and they will fit the steel wheel, my ones did anyway.
My 2005 has an alloy for the .
