What is the weight of a Terrano 2 swb van?
As I passed my test after 1997 I can only tow upto a total gross of 3500kg, so working out of my trailer and austin seven are under the weight!!
So that's 1730 kg for the car, but you need to add passengers, luggage, tools, spares etc, before you subtract that from 3500 kg
Then you need to look at the unladen weight of the trailer, and then the weight of the Austin 7 plus any loose bits etc.
At first glance it is fairly close, so do your calculations.:thumb2
This is an advantage of a swb vs the lwb as the lwb is 150 kg heavier, but the lwb is a better tow car as it has a longer wheel base..
But for the weight you are towing the swb should be fine... but check weights.:thumb2
Reading that site, the 1730 would include rear seats, glass etc, so the van should be a bit lighter?
quick calculation:
Terrano - 1730kg
Trailer - 750kg
Austin 7 - 500kg
Total: 2980kg
So have around 500kg spare for Tent, BBQ & Beer!!

I would guess car is heavier, closer to 700 kg, but trailer could be lighter.
Unladen trailer weight is an important element in this calculation, otherwise the beer could be at risk.
NOTE: trailer must have over run brakes.
Edit:- found on another web site..
The Austin 7 is a saloon (sedan) with a front mounted engine which supplies its power to the rear wheels.
The Austin 7's engine is a naturally aspirated petrol, 0.7 litre, side valve 4 cylinder with 2 valves per cylinder. This unit produces 17 bhp (17.2 PS/12.7 kW) of power at 3800 rpm.
A 4 speed manual gearbox transmits the power to the driven wheels.
Its quoted kerb weight is 635 kg.
Wow 700 cc engine with 17 Bhp, I wonder how many mpg that does...
.
I've been way way over the limit a few times and not realised :/
This was the time I accidentally compressed my springs beyond return
Now let me think... each bag is normally 25kg, so 4 per 100 kg.
So 20 is 500 kg...
So how many bags in there?
We could have a competition, how many sweets in the jar type?...:lol
Im in the same boat, got my trailer test at the end of next month.
I worked out okay with tipping trailer unladen but pushing the limits when anything over half full.
