This is what i did, bit rough with the chocy block but like i say i couldnt get it working, though i suspect the consult adapter might be rubbish, so im going to order another one and see how it goes.

I found a grey 14pin socket in a micra in the scrappers, had the correct pins wired too.

Looks bloody familiar, i tried making an adaptor for mine ages ago, couldnt get it working, may have been a dodgy consult adaptor though, Think i might have another go.

All the cars i have ever had the brakes get warm, how warm normally depends on how much you brake, even on a relativly short journey if you brake alot they get hotter. In the past if i have ever had a problem with my brakes binding they are stinking hot, too hot to touch.

Why not ask them to put through a reputable MOT tester and show you the fail sheet, then negotiate if your still intereseted an MOT is cheap its the remedial work thats expensive.

Have you checked the brakes? Pads, shoes, discs? whatever you have for wear, might need replacing.
