brake failure light 'thanks dad'

well, dad and i have been helping a friend and her family move house, and dad's been abusing my, and i quote 'heap of shite' again, basically it's a 4x4 so it's not a land speed record breaker, anyway, dad can't understand that his son's pride and joy has to be treated with respect and does'nt seem to care cut a long story short, dads been screaming the engines rpm and slamming on the brakes trying to power slide i think, like a rally driver:lol:lol and the brake failiure warning light has came on and won't go off..... dad says i wouldn't have this problem with a propper 4x4 and not these 'jap crap' we own, errm terrano's are spanish:clap:clap

i aint trying to depress you all but i'm mega P'ed of, think tomorrow, i'll see if gail 'friend' will drive it, as she does anything but abuse my truck, she likes it

does anyone know what's wrong with it? a checked the fluid and cylinder and it seems ok

Power slide my arse :doh 100 bhp and big old boots, high CofG , LSD , hmmm let me think..........................ballocks Hemight trip it over on the roads but you'll need considerably more oomph to power slide it on road. Off road however it's great fun :lol
No idea why brake light is on though unless he'sbeing trying to hand brake turn it too hard and your h/b switch is stuck :nenau

Have you checked the brakes? Pads, shoes, discs? whatever you have for wear, might need replacing.

The Brake warning light will come on if your level has dropped in the brake resevoir or the float switch is faulty or stuck - take it out and manually operate it to see if the light goes out.

The handbrake or mis adjusted or faulty handbrake switch will cause the light to come on.

The Brake warning light will also come on if your servo pressure is lacking, on a normal working terrano the light will come on if you hoof the brake pedal repeatedly about 5 or 6 times.

If the light comes on due to a fault, it will not go out / reset until the ignition is switched off and then back on so bear this in mind each time you try something on your fault finding quest.

i dunno, all i can say is when he gets his toyota mr2 back on the roads i'll bugger that up big time:thumbs, and when i am driving on the roads and see him, i'll flatten that mr2..:augie:lol
