Hi all. My 1997 2.7 maverick swb is really beginning to frustrate me. It's idling really badly, between 500 and 700 rpm, sounds very rough and lumpy, then when you set off, unless it gets plenty of right foot it will just stall out, more like custs out, it can do it randomly, traffic lights...

does anybody know what the depth of that cubby hole is? would be nice to get a flush fit, perhaps a DIN radio might work better. very nice install though, certainly would like mine to be similar!

My truck idles at about 550rpm, really easy to stall, and makes it a nightmare towing, can't set off without revs when not towing, all in all, its a bit of a face loser as you stall regularly! is there any way i can adjust the idle speed? i'd like to turn it up to 800-850rpm. Its a 1997...

Cheers for the replies, took out the sensor and cleaned it up as best I could, the stuff for cleaning video heads it what I used, that and a couple of cotton buds, left it to dry for 15 mins, looked dry, no smell off it so I figured it was all ok, I refitted it and ran it, but no better, it's so...

There was a new air filter put in when I fitted the sensor, and there was a filter in it before, I've also changed the fuel filter, it'll get a shot of redex too! All seems a bit odd.

I just fitted a new (s/h actually) MAF to my truck, was idling very low, very easy to stall and felt like whenever I took m. Foot off the throttle, that an exhaust brake was retarding it. Took the original MAF off, and it was full od hay/dust and such. Put on the new one and it was an instant...

Sorry to be a pain, but would anyone know if there is a difference in the abs sensors used on petrol versions compared to diesel version? seems to be difficult to track these sensors down so want to be sure. Thanks,

Will there be a difference between a 2.7td and a 2.4i engined ABS sensor? The cars are the same age, the engine is the difference . . .

Got sorted on the MAF - Thanks to rayf Just need to find an ABS sensor, have sent some enquiries to a couple of breakers so see what happens, perhaps there is a member who will allow me to liberate them of an ABS sensor in exchange for a few bits of paper with the queen's head on it!

Sorry i found that it is the Hitachi version, i opnened a new thread when i realised it wasn't the Bosch unit. It runs marginally better without the MAF Connected, ironically it still passed the emissions test on its MOT

Hi all, I've had my MAF Condemned and i can't get hold of a replacement. I'm told my Maverick is a 1997 2.7TDi Ford say the part is no longer serviced, and i'm really struggling to locate one on the www. it doesn't help that i'm not sure what i'm looking for?? is there a Nissan equivalent...
