i could be wrong, but it sounds like the filter is missing out of the air flow housing...???

There was a new air filter put in when I fitted the sensor, and there was a filter in it before, I've also changed the fuel filter, it'll get a shot of redex too!

All seems a bit odd.

Meths will do the job with no residue or damage. We used it to clean keyboards and medical equipment regularly with no probs at all. Also usefull in cleaning damp distributor caps. The evaporation helps dry out the cap.

ok will try that, i have a can of brake cleaner here, thats why i suggested it, but it'll be ok,

i'm guessing an airline through it is a no-no?

an air line does seem a bit aggressive, hair dryer perhaps? :nenau

If its a Hitachi then its just two very fine wire filaments and if its malfunctioning because of contamination its because stuff is burned on to it and need dissolving.

If there is more shite on this new one you definitely have a leak of some kind bypassing the filter.

Cheers for the replies, took out the sensor and cleaned it up as best I could, the stuff for cleaning video heads it what I used, that and a couple of cotton buds, left it to dry for 15 mins, looked dry, no smell off it so I figured it was all ok, I refitted it and ran it, but no better, it's so gutless in 1st gear that a stall is inevitable unless plenty of revs are up, idle speed seems very low and it runs lumpy too.

Had a good look around the air hoses. Couldn't see anything wrong or hear/feel it either. No smoke worn mentioning which I'd expect if lack of air, but I guess I need to double-check!

Any hot spots known for leaks? I'll tighten all clips anyway

It's burned a tank of diesel and had a dose of redex in the last 24 hours, which hasn't helped either.

Thanks for all the replies I'll keep scratching my head and hunting around it.
