    Kwik- Fit Worthing

so far, i never had a problem with them. nor has anyone i know. i brought my mav, it had a full kwik fit exhaust which came with a 3 year no quibbles guaranteed. the rear tail pipe exhaust mount broke off, i popped in there and they replaced it no probs. it did take them 1hr 1/2 but it was a...

    Gearbox Differences?

finally got my syncro problem sorted with a 'new' gearbox. only that brought with it its own problems. the 'new' gearbox was out of a 2.7 mark 1 maverick, possibly '94 ish. mines a '98 mav. the guy went to fit only to find a few differences between the two. hes said the bell housing on the...

    Spare Wheel on Roof Rack

ive seen many people just strap them down. when i get one end of this year, ill get a hold of a spare wheel carrier from the back of a mav, or another jap 4x4 and mod it to mount onto the rack. at least then it properly fixed down

    cb set up and installation

i mounted mine on the dash, in the center. i like your fabication, but like dadba said, you sure thats going to be ok? i have a cb wallet thing mounted to my sun visor, moved to the passenger side in the end because i was too tall (5,11) and kept catching my head on it.

    Torsion bars.

the rear should be higher, as in clearances. on my mav theres a difference of about 2/3 inches in arche clearance and i think thats pretty normal. the car was designed for towing in mind hence why the rear springs are so firm. so if you drop some weight in the rear, the fronts going to be...

    saggy rear!

saw some of those 'air bag aids' the other day, thought they were quite impressive. someone did a review on them for their landcruiser, link on the The Hubb. theres also a good video here on the Matt Savage website. although a terrano/maverick isnt listed, im pretty sure ive seen some...

    What Winch And Winch Sizes

i dont suppose you read Total Offroad? if not, their Patrol (like yours, '03 plate) had a custom hidden mount made at the front by a place called 4x4-R-Us. you can see pics of it here, just scroll down to the bottom. as for winches, you could go all out and get something like a Warn or...

    NE1 fitted elec fans?

the actual viscous hub is still there. unlike my vit, the 'hub' cant be unbolted so if you were to remove it, it would have to be permanent ie by using a hacksaw  im probably going to do that in the future, because even with the fan removed, the hub still creates a bit of drag. ill make...

    NE1 fitted elec fans?

refilled the mav today. trip said 117 miles, although im sure i could have done a few more before i got back to where i was when i last filled up. anyway, lets do a bit of math: £20 @ £1.14 (point something, but i cant remember what is was now) Per Litre = 17.54 Litres of Diesel There are 4.55...

    4x4 feels wierd.....

its normal, i got it on the mav when driving around the snowy carpark a few weeks ago, and also when driving offroad before christmas. as already mentioned, it could be abit of transmission wind up, or just some understeer.

    NE1 fitted elec fans?

hi sweety. as for costs: fans - £91 (incl p&p), however if you were on a budget a single 11" fan would probably be sufficient for about 1/2 that price thermostat - £36 (incl p&p) the fuse box cost me £6 i think, the relay box cost me £15 and the power distributer cost me £7. but like i said...

    NE1 fitted elec fans?

anyone still thinking about fitting electric fans, ive made a workshop download on how i went about fitting them to my mav. its in the downloads section, workshop 31, or theres a link here. thanks to shark1e for uploading it. btw there are some spelling and grammar mistakes

    Terrano 2 tyres

i run Cooper (Discoverer) S/T's on my mav. best decribed as an aggressive A/T tyres. they hold the road very well in the wet, only notice them being noisy when you hit 70, and they hold their own very well in the muddy stuff. i run 235/75/15 (standard size - 28.9"), although im pretty sure i...

    Removing the started motor

ive just spent the morning removing and cleaning the starter motor as im still having starting issues just a tip if you want to do it, remove the bottom bolt first and then remove the top one. also, the use of a pit or ramps makes things easier, but i just jacked the o/s wishbone up a few...

    Turbo

mine comes in at about 1700rpm, but you notice it more at about 2000 surely blocking the egr valve shouldnt make any difference as its only open when on idle? all other times its closed (unless faulty) gazz, there is/was a topic open about fitting a manual boost controller to the turbo, you...

    terrano grill

i assume youve seen this if so, then yeah i would think so. it came from a terrano of the same design. (someone correct me if im wrong)

    poly bushes

if you go for genuine super pro ploy bushes, they come in three different densities. the softer ones obviously offer a better ride, and the harder ones compromising on comfort for road 'handling'. i have many people tell me that super pros are the dogs, many from personal experience. they out...
