    Won't start!

Sounds like air is being drawn in somewhere, check fuel filter seal and drain is sealing properly. Check banjo pipe seal on the fuel pump.

    waxoyl

There is no rules on working on your car on your own drive as long as you are not making noise above 56db after 7Pm. Some of these enforcement departments get power drunk and spout all sorts of B011ux in letters. There may be a case if you were constantly doing work on cars in your drive i.e for...

    Heater fan.......(again)

There is a fuse but it will only fail in the event of excess current - i.e if the motor is on setting 4 and it stalls / develops a short circuit fault. If you place a resistor in series with the motor i.e setting 1,2 and 3 then the current is limited by the resistor and so the fuse would not...

    Heater fan.......(again)

The fan will work on setting 4 with the module disconnected as the resistor unit is switched out of circuit, so basically the motor is running with no ballast in series. :thumbs

    Heater fan.......(again)

DO NOT solder across these 'fusible links' would you put a nail in a fuse holder? These resistive links are the only protection against your motor going short circuit, if the motor does stall due to bearing failure or short circuit field / armature windings then it will draw...

    Sorted the misfire out

Well done :thumb2- this has been a very irritating problem for many on this forum and some have given up and are just living with the problem. Very interesting your findings as I have spent months trying all sorts of things to try and cure this exact problem at 2000 rpm. I have found adding...

Need to identify a noise - please help

Gearboxes tend to make the whistleing metailc noises you have described - it doesn't mean it's on its way out, they're noisy gearboxes at the best of times.

    Engine misfire

If it misfires at 1900 rpm then it has the same problem as mine. I never got to the bottom of it but adding a teaspoon on cetain per tankfull cures it until the cetain gets too ditute. You can only get pure cetain from someone you know who works at an oil refinery.

    Possible leaking I/C

Are you sure the oil isn't being thrown up from the top of the engin under the intercooler and dripping off?

Found a tracker in my green t2

I know this is an old thread but - watch out for these devices. There is a scam where you buy a vehicle, and a few days later, no matter where you are - it mysteriously goes missing

    Stripped terrano parts for sale!

Near side headlamp would go well with the other one I had from you and a drivers side door switch so I don't keep leaving my lights on and flattening my battery :doh

    Rear Door Seal

I eventually solved mine by removing the carpet and underlay, sit in the boot facing towards the back window and make yourself comfortable. Get someone with a hosepipe to go round all round the gap between the door and frame and this will soon show where the leak is. I found the water tracks...

Uh oh, I think this is a bad thing!!!!

I don't think there are supposed to be clips on these pipes, it's good fitting rubber fuel hose which goes from injector to injector. The piece of pipe on the last injector is blocked off with a plastic plug ...... or if you give the job to a ham fisted numpty like me, it's a bolt because the...

    Rear Bumper Lights

TIP : If you are going to take out the rear lights, wrap the cables up in spira wrap or something similar before putting the lights back in. In time the cables rub against the chassis behind the light units and eventually through the PVC insulation causing intermittent back lights and dash...

    Headlight wanted

Hi Does anyone have a drivers headlight unit for a T2 year 2000 rectangle type as in my profile pic. I have now realised that flashing lights from on comming cars isn't always a sign that they know me ..... I have since found that the tilt doesn't work any more on that light and so it points in...

    waxoyl

Waxoil isn't the best - it hardens, cracks and comes off. Mix waste oil and waxoil 50/50 it really does last much longer as it doesn't dry up and it gets in every where - waxoil tends to sit ontop of gaps rather than go in. Get an old paint spray gun and decent compressor, put the mixture in...

    No Steering

Hi all, This morning I got in my Terrano 2.7 TDI year 2000 , started as usual but as I went to pull away I couldn't turn the steering wheel  About 3-4 seconds later, the steering suddenly loosened to normal and was fine for the rest of the journey to work - although during the entire...
