    Front seats needed

O.K it looks like I may have sourced some mirrors but no joy as yet on the seats. There is a grey leather set on fleabay but don't know if this will look a bit rubbish on a black interior. Question : Did they actually make a Terrano II / III with Black leather seats?

I think I may have found some mirrors on ebay but they are for a MK2 terrano?? The guy selling them says mine is 05plate that they may not fit. Was there a MK3 and is it that much different? :nenau

    Front seats needed

Hi, As some of you know here I have now bought an 05plate terrano which is going well. I am looking for drivers and passengers front seats as they are rather tatty -preferably in black to match the interior and leather type so that when I sit in it in my wet dry suit, the water doesn't soak...

    Gbox oil

That's a good point about the bearings being roller or ball race - I do remember once stripping an outboard gearbox and one of the old bearings that came out was a full compliment needle roller bearing which fell apart on the bench. I picked up a magnet and they stayed on the bench???? I had a...

Getting tired of chasing the rot

I think also there are many vehicles on the road with hidden rust. The 05 Terrano I just bought also has hidden rust which I could only assess properly after I had bought it, got it home and pulled up the carpets. Its the same place where my old Terrano started its demise where the wheel arch...

    Sorry!!

LOL - the issues you have quoted here is exactly what I've been having - mine is up for sale now and it will only be driven round the block every few days as I'm scared that something else will go wrong with it and cost me even more money.

    Gbox oil

After years of being told GL4 is the only oil that can be used -I have now this explained to me by an expert in transmission rebuilding. The bearings in the gearbox are phosphor bronze and these bearings are self lubricating. Phosphor bronze slowly absorbs oil ( that is why they are self...

    Sorry!!

Hi all, I disappeared from here for a while because my beloved Terrano which I loved dearly for 5 long years was retired to a life in the woodlands of Pembrokeshire due to an incurable tin worm problem - where she rusts in peace pulling trailers of logs down dirt tracks. In my fragile delicate...

    light buzzer

Take out the door switches and check no one has left one of them disconnected or has one of them had gone faulty - open circuit. Link / short the connector on the drivers door switch, put the lights on and the buzzer should sound.

Front Courtesy Light Door Button Switch

I had a heck of a job trying to find one of these - annoying as I kept leaving my lights on and flattening the battery as I didn't have the reminder alarm :doh Eventually one came up on fleece bay

    Fuel consumption

I don't know an awfull lot about this - how do I tell the difference. I also do alot of short journeys back and fore to work which is about 3 miles each way and it's town driving. I do longer journeys at weekends which may involve towing boats etc. I havn't changed my habits so I am wondering...

    Fuel consumption

Hi all, I've been suspicious for a while that my Terrano 2.7TDI has not been doing the milage per gallon it used to do. I recall some months ago it was going for about 420 - 440 miles on a tank but now it's only doing 330ish which gives a grand total of 21MPG:eek::eek::eek: Any ideas why she's...

Wet boot carpet, leaking rear door seal.

Take off the top outer gutter trim and tiger seal or sikaflex it back on so the water runs down the sides of the door. Buy a new door seal and problem over :thumbs I tried threading pipe inside the seal but that causes the seal to loose its flexibility and jump out of position on the top left...

    Boot door seal....again Arrrgh!!!!

Hi all, The plastic wine syphon hose inside the door seal worked for a bit but now it's distorted the seal and it now prefers to slip down past the top left corner rather than up against it. I've done all the usual fixes and still it pi$$es in!!!:mad::banghead The door seal is now...

    rear diff oil change

Naa - if that were a tin worm and it got to that size then it would have eaten through the chassis by now :lol

    No rear lights

Take both back light units out and look for damage to the wire insulation where it may have been rubbing against the chassis. This will cause the fuse under the bonnet to blow and no back lights.
