Front seats needed

Hi,

As some of you know here I have now bought an 05plate terrano which is going well.
I am looking for drivers and passengers front seats as they are rather tatty -preferably in black to match the interior and leather type so that when I sit in it in my wet dry suit, the water doesn't soak into the seat. The problem with this is that when I change into normal clothes, I get a damp posterior when the seat gives up its moisture back to the seat of my jeans :doh

My old Terrano had leather ( don't know if it was real leather ) seats and it worked well.

Also looking for a set of driver and passenger mirrors as the ones that came with this beast have been ripped off and been badly bodged back together.

I think I may have found some mirrors on ebay but they are for a MK2 terrano?? The guy selling them says mine is 05plate that they may not fit. Was there a MK3 and is it that much different? :nenau

I'm pretty sure that they'll physically fit on your door but it's the wiring that may be different.
My 05 plate mirrors looked identical on the outside to my r plate truck but never got around to swapping them over (long story).

O.K it looks like I may have sourced some mirrors but no joy as yet on the seats. There is a grey leather set on fleabay but don't know if this will look a bit rubbish on a black interior.

Question : Did they actually make a Terrano II / III with Black leather seats?

Yes, they did, mine has black leather (heated) seats.

I would try some of the breakers yards. When I was looking for seatbelts, there were plenty of T2's (later models) being broken.

I would have thought it probably fairly easy to track some down.

You should be able to dye grey leather to black :thumb2

Many thanks for that but he's only got the front seats and they are a light grey. There is a complete set of black leather on fleece bay also and I've approached the guy about putting them on a pallet so that I can organise a courier but he hasn't responded.

He's replied now - he says can get the seats onto pallets.

They aren't in brilliant condition but better than the smelly doggy drool stained cloth seats currently in my newly acquired Terrano. There are also dog hairs that don't come out even with an aggressive dyson- there's a reason it was cheapish. :doh

I see in your profile you have black leather seats - what year is your Terrano as I'm trying to find out what year they did them and if the SUV had a different style leather seat.

My project terrano is a t reg probably one of the last with the twin round headlamp/foglamps. Mine has black leather seats. Its a green se touring if it makes any difference.

I found these on fleabay earlier - in one of the photos is a Terrano similar to what you have described like yours.

I remember my old year 2000 Terrano had a long and short seat in the back and so you could fold the large seat down leaving a single seat but in my new Terrano they both appear to be the same size so they part in the centre and there is now a seatbelt point coming from the roof instead of a lap belt. I am wondering if I'm going to run into problems here with incompatible seat mountings and seatbelt fittings.

Mine are cloth at the moment but it is on my to do list if I ever get the time to retrim them. Trimmer by trade leather sat ready to go.

Yeah they look just like mine as does the truck. Well so far I've got a t reg and an r reg and did have a 05 reg, all three had exact same size rear seats so only one passenger able to sit in the back with one of the seats folded up.

Yeah seat belt mounts could prove tricky, think you'd be best comparing seats in real life if you see what I mean. May be earlier seats have holes drilled for the later belts.
