the pollen filter i had didn't have the plastic frame like the original one, just some open cell foamy stuff to seal. but then i guess it cant be any worse than the one i took out, which was just about 3 times as bad as the one pictured above! as for changing it, follow the workshop download...

i run 20w50 in my mk2 escort derived kit car, and pretty much all of the similar era classic trials guys seem to do the same :)

I use Opie oils quite a lot, especially for the heavy duty diff oil for my Rickman. great service, and a good range of products :) their free air fresheners are nice too ;) edit: not the cheapest though, even with discount codes......

oh, and if i read everything right, make sure you can remove the filler plug before the drain plug.... all the oils are a 3 yearly change, except for the gearbox which is 4 years. oh, and above all else, ensure the rear diff oil you use is the stuff for LSDs. Lee

good luck mate. i did mine for much the same reason as you - didn't REALLY need to, but gave peace of mind should i collect anything heavier than i should..... i enjoyed the test, and the very chatty Yorkshireman i had as an examiner. Lee
