Back again and saved another few quid

The very thing! Had to do the procedure on the download a few times but it worked.

    Bleeding starter!!

Can you lay your hands on one of those rechargable starter/jump starter packs and try starting the truck with that (I got one in Aldi's a rechargable mini-compressor/starter that you can carry around). That will tell you if the battery is the problem or not. You could also try fully recharging...

Back again and saved another few quid

Haven't been on the forum for a while and let membership lapse. Old Terrano 2 got a case of the rusty rear sills. So changed vehicles-- to 03 Terrano. New truck brings new issues. Wanted to see if there was any suggestions here on whether a flashing air-bag light problem could be sorted without...

Comprehensive write up of mk3 T2

So I have an "anti-hijack" system? Wow.

    Hankook Dynapro ATm RF10

Any idea where black circles get that specification of 107T from? Seems a bit idealistic!

    dashboard lights

Replaced the dash bulbs some time back on 2000 2.7 TDI T2. Don't remember exactly the steps I followed but think it was in the manual. It was actually a fairly easy job. Didn't bother with coloured bulbs because the face of the dashboard on mine is coloured blue, orange, red etc. for the...

    Steering play excessive

Thanks for all above suggestions. Haven't had chance to lift it up and have look around yet but couldn't quite grasp why stabiliser bar would need replacing. Makeitfit, the u type bushings in the centre of the bar are new enough as I replaced them not too long ago. The arb drop links are also...

    Steering play excessive

Didn't try it with engine running. Are you thinking the excessive play when stationary might have something to do with power steering??

    Steering play excessive

Jim, its not the anti roll bar link, it's the actual roll bar itself--the round bar going across the front of the truck. What I mean by the track rod end is the adjustable rod that you tighten or loosen to adjust the tracking (i.e. toe in or toe out). They did show me the parts moving. I'm...

    Where's My Clutch Fluid Gone!!!!

Had similar problem some time ago. Fluid was leaking from pipe around where it connects to the tramsmission casing as far as I can remember. It was a short pipe section with a rectangluar block end fitting on it. Had to get it from dealer. Couldn't see the fluid leaking or on the ground but when...

    Steering play excessive

Front tyres have been wearing heavily on inside of tyres recently particularly on passanger side so went to get an alignment done. Alignment place put it up on lift and checked steering first. When they shook the front wheel there was quite a bit of movement in front stabiliser bar and track rod...

    Dale Farm...

Point about "REAL Irish tinker" is a good one. Don't think there is any of the "tinkers" that used to travel around fixing tin pots and pans etc. around anymore. Irish travellers originated I thought in large part with the past control of the land and property system and the poor being evicted...

    Rugby weather warning

Could have been a lot closer than it ended up but the Welsh had their homework done. They deserved the win. A lot depends on what French team turns up next day out.

    Rugby weather warning

Have to hand it to Wales, they did the job on Ireland. Best of luck to them.

    New old motors

Mostly time really. Although best quote I got for a clutch kit for the 93 is £ 80.00 but would have to do the work myself. Havn't made up my mind whether I will do the clutch job or not. Would like to get one of the two on the road and use the other for a bit of off-road work. Will see how...

    New old motors

Finally getting to post the pictures of the Suzuki Vitaras. <a href="http://s743.photobucket.com/albums/xx77/danielj2500/?action=view&current=Vitara931.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx77/danielj2500/Vitara931.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> 93 Vitara...

    Wheel Spacers?

Used spacers on Mazda pickup 4x4 for about a year now. Didn't go too big with them though, about 10 or 12mm I think. Needed the extra room to fit 15 inch rims instead of original 16's. Done a lot of road miles and a good bit of rough stuff with them. Can't say I have had any problems, noticed...

    hand brake light

Are u sure brake fluid is not a bit low? And how are brake shoes / pads? (Don't think light will stay on if shoes / pads are low but if cylinder pistons are at full stretch you might get light coming on on some vehicles)

    changed the ARB drop links

:thumbs :thumbs Discovered the same but only after grinding the old one off and racking my brains for an half hour to figure out how to get the new one on without screwing up the rubbers.
