You don't need a kit especially if you already have air filter sorted. Main items are probably, oil filter, fuel filter and engine oil. Filters are cheap enough. No harm to change differential oils and gearbox oil if you don't know when it was last serviced so you will need lsd oil and gearbox oil.

I use a similar type to that for changing oil filter. Easy job to get filter off. Its a little tricky to get the filter up and out with your hand once its off without dropping it and getting oil all over the place but getting the filter off is easy with that tool.

Had a problem over the past year with some of the same things happening as you are having. Changed the fuel filter and gave a good cleaning to the filter housing (especially the white bit that threads in to the bottom of the filter) and it seems to have solved the problem.

Ok. Point taken about the tyres. I'm not downplaying the T2 performance though. One glitch with the T2 and my bullbars would be covered in very expensive merc paint and plastic bumper.

Dave, I have done a few hundred miles in temperatures down to -8 since changing fuel filter and cleaning maf and no problem yet. It may be as you suggest and maybe due to water in fuel filter housing, maybe freezing and blocking something. Lets hope problem solved.
