    Re-prgramming Key Fob

The - Man Look Priceless I thnk we have all done something similar in the past. My Missus often dispatches me to the freezer in the garage to fetch some item of food. I search high & low and return later empty handed. Various verbs/nouns are used against me as I go with her to the freezer -...

    Freelander Series 2 - 2.2 TD4 GS 4x4 5 Dr Auto.

A small firm at Loscoe, Derbyshire "Staion 27 Car Sales" run by a nice pair of young blokes - they have some tidy cars on their forecourt. They had a Land Rover Technician diagnose & repair it.

    Freelander Series 2 - 2.2 TD4 GS 4x4 5 Dr Auto.

Freelander S2 Auto update. I was not happy with the road noise on the Freelander - turns out the n/s/f wheelbearing was the cause - detected by supplying garage with a stethoscope - they replaced the bearing & did an oil service f.o.c. so well pleased. Currently managing 29.4 mpg - Wendy likes...

    Freelander Series 2 - 2.2 TD4 GS 4x4 5 Dr Auto.

The wifes Freelander - she likes it - first battle won We picked up the Freelander on Thursday - wife is out in it as I post. She likes the drive so time will tell. My first impression is that there is a lot of general road noise - in our Jeep this was drowned out by engine noise. With the...

    Freelander Series 2 - 2.2 TD4 GS 4x4 5 Dr Auto.

Today we decided to part with our Jeep GC WJ series 54 plate as it was racking up the miles plus starting to show it's age after over 6 years of ownership & daily use - she now has a not record breaking 131 k miles on the clock. After a lot of looking at various options we have bought a 2013...

    Key and barrel all grindy...

It's decades since I did that on an old Austin Mini Steering wheel lock. Someone here will be able to advise you where the release plunger is on a Nissan. On the Austin I had to drill out some cast alloy flashing but most have a plunger release hole you can get at. Might be worth searching U...

    Key and barrel all grindy...

Can't you just change the tumbler cylinder? It might be easier to get the lock out and put a new lock tumbler / barrell in - sounds like one of the levers & springs have broken in the lock cylinder.

Hydraulic Tappets Most of my cars since 1976 have had hydraulic tappets - Opels, Vauxhalls, Mercs, BMW & now Jeeps. In those years I have done well over 600,000 mies in vehicles that were over 8 yrs old when purchased - never had an issue. By comparison my experience with BL manual tappets...

    Engine Swap - The Legalities

When I worked at MB Derby they always used the local Diesel Specialists to remove glow plugs & seized injectors. The success rate without taking off the cylinder heads was very high. When our Jeep WJ injectors started leaking the local garage used the same firm who do a mobile service as a lot...

2.4 petrol runs terrible if rain damp

I would suspect the HT Leads Am I right in thinking they are carbon plug leads they can be damaged relatively easily near the plugs & distributor connections - they seem to absorb damp. I like the old fashioned way with a copper wire even if the radio crackles. Are the plugs the right ones if...

    Seagulls under my bonnet ?

Wife came home yesterday & said her Jeep WJ was making a noise. When questioned further she described it as if there were Seagus following her! When I took it for a test drive not a sound for the first half a mile then realised I too was being folowed by Seagulls. Booked in at local garage for...

What is the weight of water Rick ? I assume there will be some cross bracing or is the wooden support temporary it looks like a lot of weight sitting on stilts as it is? As you know a 1000 Litres of water weighs about 1.4 Tons!!

Your experience counts for a lot Rick Most skill sets are transferable Rick what you know about Nissan 4x4 s can apply to lots of circumstances in other brands. For example when I had cold starting issues last winter on my Jeep WJ I looked on here and read about seeing air in fuel pipes -...
