    High angle CV joints!

What axle you thinking of using?

    High angle CV joints!

From the US - can't remember who does em - we ought to see if we can get something done over here. Its onoy about 10 or 12mm but its enough to take the strain off the CVs, but won't effect the clearance as the diff still stays up above the crossmember etc.

You can lower the diff instead using offset bushes.

    Diesel Fuel Pump

Pick up blocked or even cracked. Fuel lines are well known for going porous and sucking air which causes clouds of white smoke. Air leak at the fuel filter is another possibility - could be the pump but its rare in these.

    Diesel Fuel Pump

Like what? Is this a TD or a TDi - I assume it is a TDi from the age. Is your donor vehicle also a TDi - ie do they both have intercoolers. Also are they both onthe same injection system bosch or the other one begining with Z - check the MAF it will say on top of that. Of you are looking for...

Near side lower (rear bush mount) mounting

All Terranos sag with age its just something they do - it's worth resetting the ride height on all trucks however old. They ride and handle better when at the correct height - details on how to measure and check etc are HERE on page 8 and 31 I don't think the wear will be down to that though...

Near side lower (rear bush mount) mounting

The movement is mainly a twisting action but it also pivots slightly and in 2 planes at that, hence the use of the rubber bush. The ideal solution would be a spherical bearing, but the noise transmitted by these type would not be acceptable for a road going production vehcle. X-Eng's X-Joint...

    Will 15" be ok?

Yeah just doe some digging and it appears they change at Mk2 - Mk3. Early have bendix 254mm (10") later have bosche 280mm (11") - and on the mavericks I've found some Sumitomo 260mm ones, but listed as being rare. Never noticed they were any bigger on new one - but they're both pretty big anyway.

Near side lower (rear bush mount) mounting

Copper washers don't sound a very good solution - they'll soon wear as too soft. Also they are acting as a 4mm spacer which will add extra castor to the front suspension geometry - again not a ood idea really.

    NUTS

I've got a full set of ones for alloys but it depends which alloys theres at least 3 types of nuts on these trucks depending what wheels you have. Thorton breakers would be a good place to go. If buying new the magic numbers are M12 x 1.25

    LSD or no LSD

Is it a rear diff lock or a centre diff lock - you probably have both.

    Will 15" be ok?

Got 15s on my 2001 - it came with 16s. Not sure about bigger brakes on later models - would need to check that, thought they were all the same. Got Maxxis Buckshot mudders on and they are vitually silent despite being a 80/20 type. If you've never got stuck on 50/50 ATs - you ain't been trying.
  15. Terranosaurus

    LSD or no LSD

You need to check - look for the sticker on diff pan - different spec trolls come with different diffs, but if you have a button for rear diff lock then you can't have an LSD.

Never heard of Sutherlands - they make Beef Spread etc surely. Autodata is the book or CD everyone I know refers to - can't help you with the data now though I'm afraid.
