You could just unscrew the fitting from the axle and put another one in. Or change the fitting for one that takes nylon pipe and raise the breather.

Oooops mine didnt need alot of work but scrap man took them. Have got a very tidy rear centre step and the original side steps in amazingly good condition. And a set of mudflaps.

Learning to mig weld with a good machine is easy.. Learning to weld with a cheapo crap machine will put your confidence down to zero and make you give up.. Learn to weld with a descent unit then you will adapt to crappy ones as you go.
