yet another problem - brakes

Morning all,
driving home last night and spotted that brake warning light was flashing on and off.
thought it best to get straight home and as we arrived my brakes weren't there at all!
No handbrake no foot brakes. Just an awful screeching noise like a siren coming from the car.

At work all day today so hoping to get out tonight and endeavor to discover the problem. Puzzling as i have been under and checked brakes with the intermittent noise we've been having and pads looked ok.

Just wondered if anyone had anything similar happen to them and if you think the strange cog slipping type noise could be connected to the now new brake issue.

yes seems ok.

handbrake is working but foot brakes are there but then the power goes and nothing then they come back (continuous circle) if that makes sense.

the buzzer alsogoes off if you lose vacuum on the brakes.

I would check the servo, the pipes and the vacuum pump on the back of the alternator.

Also check the fan belt because if that is lose the alternator will not be turning fast enaough to power the pump on the back properly

No hand brake at the same time...

If this is the case, then the only common factor is a a fault in the rear brake drums, ie the friction material has come loose from the shoes, a fractured drum, or something broken in the rear brakes.

But if not at the same time, then has a hand brake cable snapped?

Have you done any work on the brakes recently?

I can see bubbles into the master cylinder.
Has anyone replaced theirs are where did you get it from?
I usually get my parts from Milner but the part there states uk model only and i can't see one for the import.
