I've got a zip up body warmer just for that..

works ok, though cant say it works properly as not had one fail yet

these are only winches ive used in past,awsome though slow! + requires visical efort and i try to avoid that lol.
have to find out how old rope is,and what it would cost new to what a winch with no cable is worth and how much he wants for it and make an informed descion lol

wire cable starts off at around £30

synthetic rope starts off at around £60
