Not much to say. Think it was The Sun! Was checking chassis after hearing the horror stories of the navara, but looks ok - maybe a little bit of surface rust. Are T2 subject to chassis failure?

What's the best way to treat the chassis? Remove surface rust, treat and wax? What about inside the box section?

Chassis Paint

Apart from the obvious like Hammerite & Waxoyl someone here used a Chassis Paint that they found on e-bay that was brilliant.

There was a member on here that used a kit made by Dinitron I think it was called. Looked good stuff and I've heard a lot about it since and I've heard most of the big manufacturers use their products too.

Only odd times have I seen really bad chassis on here on Terranos. Mind you My son has just had to reapir a hole in my wifes truck, just behind passengerside rear wheel.

Dinitrol kit off ebay, internal and external kit. I dont know what you would class as expensive but i bought a large car kit and it was £125 all in. I did my y61 over a year ago and it has not deteriorated in any way. Just done my y60 with some of the left overs plus 3 extra litres of exterior. You can read all day long about different products and one saying this is better than that but i am very happy with this stuff and would highly recommend. Or you could use waxoyl for about £60... Preparation is absolute key in all of these products though and its a dirty business....

I generally spend a whole weekend preping the underside taking all the lose stuff off and wire brush on a drill and various other tools..

Waxoyl fan here but heard very very good things about the Ditrinol stuff too, I'm going to Waxoyl mine again before the end of the year is out

Paint or compressor - or both? I assume you use a probe to get inside the chassis. Previous own has used old oil and guessing its ok to put it on top of that?

Easier in the summer especially this real hot weather, waxoyl isnt great in cold weather you need a bucket of hot water and the chassis has to be dry.
I always use to use waxoyl and often wonder if it helped preserve my old cars.

I have a compressor and a shults gun and extension come in the dinitrol kit.
