Its a C200.
There are two different types of rear diff's used, one is 1.3 Litres oil capacity (C200) , and the other is 2.8 litres (H233).
The C200 is built in the axle casing with a rear access cover and the H233 is the more conventional style, where the diff is fitted to the front of the axle housing.
Both are LSD
FYI
The number C200 relates to the diameter of the crown wheel, 200mm
H233 = 233mm
R180 (front diff) 180mm.
The R180 is the FRONT diff and is NOT LSD.So if I've got this right, the R180 is a LSD?
The "recommended fluids and lubricants" says to use API GL-5 Standard.:nenau
I have one of each diffs, my 2001 is a H233, and my 2003 is a R180.
I know the earlier (H233) is LSD but wasn't sure about the later (R180), now I'm really confused!
Read privious post 180 is front diff
I do not know for sure as I have an H233, however it's likely they would be the same.Apologies. :bow
Thanks Ray.I must read slower and take it in!
So the C200 (rear diff) is LSD but takes considerably less oil.:thumb2
Does it still use the same grade (LSD gear oil API GL-5 and SAE 80W-90) as the H233? I have no data on the C200.:nenau
