Just for a bit of fun, which town is in the picture. Theres 3 significant landmarks that definitely local North Easterners should get (can you name them? and more ? ).

And where was I standing when I took it?

Auf wiedershien..................any more clues and I'd be giving the post code too ;)

Top marks :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

I was in the queue for the transporter (which is out of shot to the right) and the sun was just coming up. Lovely view for the area.

bit early if sun was just coming up. did you find a site for the w end. KEV.

Yes I did thanks. Absolutely over the moon. I phoned a few places and left my number, one lady was about to ring back and say no sorry when the phone went and it was a cancellation :thumbs:thumbs:thumbs

Cut a long story short 3 nights on a cl between Ullswater and Penrith.

The photo was around the 8:00 mark back in Feb. Using the bridge cuts loads off my travel time around that time of day.

OH GOOD.I used to use newport when i worked in boro that is a mess any time of day. Son just decided he wants to go away next w end so ive got to find a site now. KEV.

Good luck. I left my number at loads throughout The Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales and Moors. Most dont bother getting back to you but some who did said that they often get cancellations in the week before a b/h from over keen individuals who booked way in advance as well as no shows on Thurs Fri. if I get told of anything I'll let you know :thumbs

Sorry Daved,
Just that when i drive up the A19 and go over the bridge and look down over the town it reminds me of the batman films with smog, smoke and the steam coming from the drains.

Hi Mav, I know what you mean:lol but there ain't much coming out the cooling towers these days:eek: Billingham Site is looking a sad place these days and Wilton and North Tees are not far behind.
Who'd have thought a few years ago ICI wouldn't exist and those once mighty sites would basicaly be industrial estates:doh Seen the same thing happening at Ardeer Site in Scotland:doh

Talking to an individual at one major plant, theyve scaled down, if they run up to full capacity, which isnt happening, its still only 50% of production a year ago.

The problem there is that very few of the plants produce something you or I see in the shops. What they do do though is produce the ingredients so as soon as say one plastic moulding company goes under who make car parts, several polymers and plastics producers cut back so the acid plant has no work and the nitrogen plant isnt needed nor the heavy drivers who pull the tankers........its a nightmare :(
