So really weird one, my truck was plenty warm, on the a40 as per usual, busy traffic all crawling speed, I gave the truck a Quick blip in 1st to progress a bit and quickly popped her into neutral again, before the revs have settled back down i get a judder and a shake on the gear stick, can feel it through the whole truck (almost like a stall judder) please note the revs did not get low :nenau

As we both noticed this we tested it, it would also judder in neutral with a rev too. At first i though gearbox mounts but this cannot be in neutral.

My work colleague decided it is prob the veg oil being a bit cloggy, when the roads opened up i gave her a spanking with some high revs, she now doesent do it at all and is back to normal :nenau

Should I worry? Has anyone experienced this atall? Hopefully I can ask rick to have a look on sunday :)

I have a fuel filter ready, but are the symptoms right?

Only happened when hot? After a rev, under load afterwards she was fine?

if its an old fuel filter thats on it can clog up, happened to me before i just put a new filter on and been fine since

True, chances are its very old like my air filter :lol

I will either ask someone at work or ask rick :thumb2

This will be the onset of all the years of crud in your tank being sucked through into your filter creating a blockage :doh

It will progressivly get worse nbut easily solved, i don't change mine anymore until it gets dangerous :sly

veg oil cleans your pipes out, better than any fuel treatment, unfortunately its all the stuff out your tank thats been building up for years. i changed the filter in my old t4 every 1000 miles religiously, i have not changed the filter in terry for 20k! and all is well but i am running at a much lower ratio than you guys. some terrys have a flat spot at around 1900rpm so check it is not this?

Defo not a flat spot its a noticeable change.

I dont want to start a world war 3 debate on here but I was told that new veg oil wont suck up the crud from the bottom of the tank? Only bio does this. :nenau

And also don't get me wrong ive got a filter ready anyway, just curious.

Like you, I am new to this, but from what I have read, it is the fact that the oil is thicker, so creates bigger swirls in the tank where the pick up pipe is, that causes it to stir things up in a bigger area than plain diesel. Not only that, but it then holds the crud suspended for longer, making it more likely to be sucked up.

So I think it is down to the viscosity, rather than the product.

Very good point sir :thumb2

Just humour me in morning when u start from cold blip the throttle and does it happen stright away dont let it get warn then do it when the temp needle starts to climb and c if its the same and when u do this look at revs carefully and c at what rpm it does it then come back with the results also is urs bosch or hitich.

Mine does that if the weather gets cold and the veg oil is to thick, never get the problem when running on 100 % diesel

I will try this tomorrow morning if i remember. However i did experience the problem when the engine was hot also?? It seems to be really on and off.. :nenau

A good drive home today, still did it a few times, apart from that good as gold.

This morning when I went to work she didnt warm up as I wasn't waiting for my friend to get in the car too. Needless to say the lack of warm up made the car jump like lack of fuel or a misfire feeling. Again once warmed up after 5 mins it was gone and she was driving 100%

I am putting it down to cold veg (in the morning) and possible temporary clogging when hot?
