Don't worry abou lack of goodies on your truck most stuff can be done by a std truck with AT or MT tyres on without too much difficulty. Bull bars for instance actually reduce you ground clearance - you'll find the more serious people don't have them. Winch's on T2's are few and far between.

A few things to check before you go out.

Has your rear diff got the correct LSD oil in it so that the LSD will work.
Do your front (front) free wheeling hubs work properly.
Is your front suspension at the corect height or has it sagged, my first Mav was done 40mm.

After that go out and do some, see what you like be it green laning or pay and play days or perhaps both and then you can equip youreslf suitably.

PS whereabouts are you - people migt be able to point you at a suitable event or venue.

Just popped out with a ruler and from the lowest point on my mav (The Sump Cover) I have 6 1/2 inched ground clearance, is that about right?

tbh - no idea I've nothing standard to compare against - best way is to use the method in the MANUAL - it works regardless of what size or condition tyres you have on any other method is prone to be out due to tyre size - and they vary brand to brand.

When your motor is sitting on some flat ground, does it look level or is it nose down?
If it is nose down you can adjust your torsion bars to bring the front back up level.
Not sure on the measurements but i think it was 18 1/2" you measure from the centre of the wheel to the top of your arch(someone correct me if i'm wrong!!)

It's very easy to do!!
I thought there was a D/L for this but can't find it??

Follow the 1" thick bars back from the front suspension to the rearmost cross member then look up and on the inside of the bars, you will see a bolt thread sticking up this is the bolt you adjust to wind front suspension up and down.

Slacken lock nut then tighten bolt to raise.

Really do need a sticky or download for this one.

Download would be good.

for us spanner shy bods...

a pic with some arrows.. even. and up and down would be cool

Ask the missus Zippy!!!
I'll have to jet wash the mud of b4 i can take any pictures!!
If you look under the motor between the doors, you will see two threaded rods with two nuts at the bottom,it's a 19mm spanner i think, loosen the top one and start tightening the bottom one,a couple of turns. Then take the motor for a spin, and remeasure!!
Not good at explaining these things,so somebody will probably do it better!! :?

wonderful, will get a look see tomorrow.. i got 33" floor to top of wheel arch at the back 31 1/4" at the front..

that about right?

hope you dont have to do what did. had to take the bars out and turn them spline. put a jack under the crossbar and jack to where you want it. it makes it easier to adjust.

Just had look with a torch, still cannot see but will look later in the daylight.

Will have to wash under my motor more ofter, thats so clean toolbox... :?

Goodness are things underneath meant to be different colours, silver, grey, black etc - thought everything was brown underneath

Yours aren't what most people think of as bull bars ae they? Its a winch bumper and a wing guard bars etc - not bull bars that drop down to the chassis rails. Look at dinkies got nent first time out, keeps threatening to take em off.
