Usefull and essential off road kit to carry

I'm going to remove my towbar as i'm not using it & it's going to be a bit before we get a caravan, so i'm going to tie the electrics up out of harms way if I can :smile: The bow shackles i've got the centre pin won't fit through the factory recovery point hole so I was thinking of getting some 5mm metal plates made up which will bolt to the towbar mounting points & come down a couple of inches past the factory points with a large enough hole in to take my shackles. The hole for the shackle will have a 5mm plate welded either side of the hole to help spread the load.
Do you think this would work ok :?:
