As an avid forum user, I feel ashamed to have to create such a thread...

However, I've been an 'unpaid member' for a couple of weeks now, but seem unable to post in any of the forums on here, other than in this section.
I also cannot send PM's, search forums, view uploaded pictures or see the for sale section.

Is my account not activated, or do you just have stupidly stringent rules on here?

You better sign up fast because I work in Warwick town centre and know some sweet green lanes nearby :thumb2

Yes unfortunately you have to be a paid up member, £10 a year is like dropping a 2p down the drain when you realise how much you'll save just being here :thumb2

Even Milner Off Road forum discount :naughty

Yep. Pay up ;)

I'm on my second renewal and reckon I must have saved hundreds in potential garage fees :thumb2

It's quite hard to justify the membership given the limited Y60 TD42 knowledge on here.
I can't even explore the forum in order to see how useful it could be...
What are the classifieds like?

To join or not to join that is the question ?

Paying £10.00 sorts the Wheat from the Chaff it works out at at less than 3 pence a day. One workshop manual download is more that worth £10 and the tips here are priceless.

I am a Jeep owner, some members own a Jeep or have owned one. Many problems are not vehicle specific and we come up with solutions unlike many other forums where questions go unanswered forever.

Some jokes here are worth a weeks membership (except Briggies). I have not had a Terrano for 3 years and I am still a member.

You might be of the persuasion that any Club that would have you as a memeber is not worth joining as a certain Mr Marx on said.

If you join you will be welcomed if not go elsewherwe I for one am not bothered if you are to much of a tight wad to join.

I see your point to a degree, this site is majority terrano bias, the problem is if everyone took that kind of attitude the knowledge base will never grow. The aussie forums are more patrol focused for questions and answers such as the patrol forum which has every patrol problem question ever asked... Spose you just need to way up whether you need or want to be a member on here.. I am a member on several patrol/landy sites none of which requires a payment, however i decided to join as i thought my knowledge may help others even if its from a small project and a few pics..

Come on in, the waters lovely!

At the end of the day it's up to Cooper4x4 whether he decides to have full membership or not. He knows the reason why you can only post in this section with basic membership. It's a free country with choices, I'm sure he has respect for those that are happy to pay and leave it at that.

Personally my views are this forum is best on the net and so varried it entertains and full of great advice what ever vehicle you drive. Probably the best value thing that I pay for. I'd advise anyone to join for the sake of £10 and hang around for a while.

All the best and good luck what ever you decide Cooper4x4:thumb2

I'm no longer a nissan owner but still paid because it's not just the technical stuff it also the other stuff that pops up on the various threads, but as you are now aware what the guest membership is limited to then the choice is yours...

It's also about what you can put in not just take out.

Haha. Nicely done!

I have a lot of knowledge (Chartered Mechanical Engineer) I can pass on too, and I'm currently in the throws of retrofitting a Garret GT2870 turbo to the Patrol which should make a reliable 250bhp at the wheels. :clap

Based on that, I think I'm owed free membership! :p
