It's could be the mini filter inside the banjo bolt is full of crap as it's prob never been cleaned

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I have already had the Banjo out. Mine's the type with the gauze inside the bolt shaft. I cleaned it and refitted, although I might well get rid altogether when I get round to it.
I've also changed the air filter (which was a real mess), changed the oil and filter, changed all glow plugs. Will have a look at more bits on Thursday when I have a day off.

Later ones got the filter in the banjo forgot to mention that:doh binned the one I had in the last T2. Hmm that's one thing ruled out then

There's also a little air valve filter/canister thing on the fuel tank. It's just to the right and rear of the hole in the floor you showed. If that's blocked you could be getting a bit of a vacuum in the tank. Try putting the fuel filler cap on half turn and go for a spin. If the engine is responsive again then bingo :thumbs

Oooh, that's a new one, will give that a try when I pop out later

I had this, I laughed when i was told to remove the filler cap, you'll know if that's your issue as when you remove the filler cap, it'll suck loads of air in.

Kind of like opening a bottle of pop but opposite

So is this part easy enough to get to and clean out? Do we have photos of it/a workshop page? happy to take poor quality photos of it if we dont.
I've got the inspection cover of the tank anyway, so can have a play when I get home.

It's one of the few parts I've not taken off or cleaned, yet :lol

Heard another bang today from underneath and a little rattle. I figured the rattle was down to the rear exhaust mounting having failed.
Had a look and the nearside front drop link's snapped. Not sure how I managed that, but probably should fix it pretty sharpish too. :D

My 2.7 had clips on them, I fitted new pipes and without the clips, they leaked like pigs, so had to refit the clips

My 1st terrano had non neither did my mav , but my 03 terrano had them on , right pig to get them off , fitted new pipe without them been ok since (famous last words ) was forever changing them on my last T2

I fitted some clear hose to the fuel limes before and after the fuel filter to see if there was air getting into the fuel which may be causing me issues.
unfortunately the hose I have is too think walled and collapsed under vacuum.

There are however air bubbles coming into the fuel lines prior to the filter. The line form the filter was crushed, and causing a restriction, so I don't know if the air bubbles then would be carrying on to the IP.

I'll get some new clear hose from Banshee and replace with that. Have put the old hoses back on for now, but took this video.

I guess I should now replace fuel lines to prevent the air leak.

The classic fake oil leak thanks to the spill pipes leaking & derv running down the back of the engine & over the gear box, got very worried first time I came across it:doh
Alex the clips often break but i've replaced 3 sets of spill pipes now on Terrano's & just put a small cable tie around the pipes on the injectors.

This sounds easy, when I was watching the tech fiddle with the hoses the clearance is v tight, I could have sworn we tried a cable tie :nenau
