i've got little experience of kingpin, i have no problems with remoulds in general though.

But i did have two fitted to a van years ago (kngmpin mud and snow) and the side walls started peeling, inside and outt, so not kerbing.

and i have heard some people say they can be hard to balance.

I did try to buy some kingpins a couple of years back, but no one stocked he right size and kingpin were not very helpfull.

that's all i know, not much help.

i know i keep saying it , but .. ive got bridgestone duellers h/t tyres on ..... superb tyres ..... very quiet on the road and loads of grip .... never let me down even in the snow ..... and have loads of tread left on them

Had kingpin at tyres before , no problems at all apart from very boggy stuff. Now sold to another member on here, and he's very happy with them. The Amazons are mud tyres so don't compare them to road based at's. I've got tracker MT's on my spare wheels, but I've been too busy to fit them and go anywhere that needs em. :doh
Regarding the balancing, the local tyre place told me remoulds can go out of balance easier than expensive new tyres - but he was trying to sell me some Bridgestones at the time :augie

you can get some beads that go inside the wheel to balance them on the move.. work well im told, not tyred it myself yet

There road tyres & you dont go off road :doh

but ive been in very deep snow and thick compacted snow too , and had no problems .... also on a muddy caravan site

but thats predominantly on the flat site and tarmac roads

try again in the wet on mud up hill ;)

for road tyres they are good but a good set of muds/at do make a difference when off roads

have you look at the insa's as they are not far off price wise :thumb2

I'm with you there :thumbs I'd go for Insa's over Kingpin all day long :thumbs

Kingpin dont seem very popular compared to Insa, Malatesta & i think its Techno or Technic something like that :thumbs

:lol

No disrespect :augie

But most tyres with half decent tread on a 4x4 or car should do that :thumbs

As already said, if your next tyre was the General Grabber AT2 then you would say the same about those :thumbs & they are an awesome tyre :bow

There is alot of difference between a radial / A/T / Mud & Snow / Mud & Off road only tyres :thumbs

i have a 4x4 because i cant afford to get stuck in any conditions im likely to face ..... also it is the only vehicle i can afford ( and love ) that can cope with the sheer size and weight of my electric wheelchair ..it is also probably the easiest car ive had for access in and out ..... perfect vehicle for my needs ...... did i mention i love it to bits ? :augie
