Thinking of buying a 2001 terrano

I'm thinking of buying a 2001 terrano swb van type 4x4 it's been in a crash but thinking of using it to keep my lwb 5 door alive mine is a 1997 2.7 will the parts of the 2001 be compatable ie engines gear box etc obv doors won't as it's a 3 door and stuff like prop or say handbrake cables

I believe so yes, pretty much all mechanical parts will be the same with the odd exception but 2001 models pretty much identical...

your 97 will be a TD the 2001 will be a TDi so lots engine stuff different, Rick

I thought they changed from a TD to a TDi in 1996 :nenau
Easier way to tell is that if your 1997 had round headlight then i should be a TDi

had a look at it and think im leaving it mine is a tdi has same engine but have noticed suttle differences on it ie interia dash is different headlights wings etc. when started it didn't sound well at all sounded a bit nocky.

yes you are right, my round headlight is a petrol that is what threw me, plus a very bad memory, Rick
