come on then give it your best shot :augie:augie:augie:lol:lol

everything ive always shot at has been a reasonable target. This would be too easy.

A truck that has a name that sounds like a cheap porn film has plenty of problems of its own ;);)

no idea, as far as I recall its something to do with native americans :nenau and in any case please try and be original I covered the name comment above this isnt a playground you know ;)

But there again imitation being the best form of flattery i can quite see why Isuzu or GM world dominating plc ltd (aka nearly bankrupt) would want to copy the original and best by trying to make a large engined boxy style 4x4 estate car and want similar successful world wide sales :lol

FWIW, I had a completely standard LWB 2000 Isuzu Trooper Citation 3.0 for 7 years and did over 100,000 miles in it. It was a great towcar and was fine on road (and unlike many, the injectors didn't fail and the engine didn't blow up). Offroad (greenlaning), it was always a problem - though I never did get it stuck.

I did take the Trooper greenlaning regularly, but it was always rather stressful. The problem is the independant front suspension and very limited ground clearance, in the middle of the vehicle just behind the front wheels. This is caused by the aluminium skidplate under the transfer case and exhaust. There is just too little clearance to drive anything other than the easiest lanes without whacking the skidplate.

I have a Patrol now, which even in standard form is several classes better off-tarmac than the Trooper. I've been laning with other members in Terranos and they seem to be pretty capable. Whilst I cannot be sure, not having driven one, my bet is that the Terrano is better offroad than the Trooper - though there might not be much in it.

Cheers
Andrew

good to hear that their was the odd good 3.0 that left the factory :thumbs

i have green laned mine didnt have an issue even got a wheel off the ground lol

and not all of it was easy going and i have 235 tyres on mine mine not the 245 front end wise i have ample of space underneath

height wise between the mav and the trooper is only 15mm with the lower being the terrano :nenau

or should I add the same sort of pillock who calls it a "cherry" :augie:augie

i only call it that as other do lol :lol

wasnt the jeep brand part of the bail out from the us government :nenau

My point exactly.

If they bailed out mercedes of germany yes :augie

so jeep is now owned by mercedes ???

i think i would have rather taken the bail out :lol:lol:lol

As mine was built by mercedes in a mercedes factory and has lots of mercedes bits including the engine in 2002 its a fair bet ;) (hence a couple of members on here referring to it as my Kubelwagen)

Big give away too is the shared dealerships and common part numbers :thumb2

Quality german engineering + the original and best = eat my shorts lotus petal
