Terrano underseal

Hi all picked up a 2005 Terrano yesterday all fine except some corrosion to
rear inner arches I live in Mid Lincolnshire near RAF Coningsby can anyone recommend a company that does under sealing near me ?not bothered about pretty looks just to stop the rot so to speak.
Any help appreciated.

Undersealing will not stop the rot, it will hide it until the rust coupled with underseal falls off, and you are left without wheel arches. Make sure your seat belt anchoring points are not impacted, it will cost you a MOT if they do. And make the rear seat passengers fly over your neck in case of emergency stop, once the anchoring points tear out.

Remove all the plastic, cut out any badly corroded parts, weld in new sheet metal or apply glassfiber, and then coat in underseal (outside, not visible); primer and paint (visible parts) or wax (inside of panels). A lot of work!

It might not be as bad as it looks save yourself some cash get a wire bush onto the rusty bits to clean them up & brush on some underseal yourself:thumbs One tip I will give is do the floor pan first then the chassis as it'll help save you getting covered in fresh underseal:lol

I had to weld a 17" wide plate in the boot floor of mine as the previous underseal had nicely trapped salty water between the sealant and the metal. Waxoil or one of the other wax based sealants stay a bit sticky and don't form a solid layer that can trap moisture. They do probably need to be reapplied a little more often, but worth it in the long run.

The rear arches are bad for rot, but the reinforcing plate underneath the rear seat mountings is far worse - it's a second skin that is spot welded in place allowing all manner of nastiness to happen out of sight until a fat passenger falls through the floor or thumps the front seated person in a sharp stop situation. Best to pop the rear seats out, pull back the carpet and get at it with a big screwdriver to check it's all solid first off. Not a particularly difficult welding job, but can look quite bad once you start digging!

Also double check any of the painted sound proof anti vibration stuff on the boot floor - if it looks like it's rising anywhere, it may be all that's keeping the carpet inside the car.

As said but for me the biggy is the seat belt mounting point in the arches. If the rust isnt too bad wire brush, rust treatment and then libral coats of underseal.

When I had my 05 plate I listed the carpet over the rear wheel arch, it pulls out easily from under the plastic side trims and look at the seams between the arch and the floor. I couldn't believe how bad it was far far worse than my old truck so chucked it in px double quick.
