Looking good, i think you will be ok with one bracket if you plan on securing the bottom of the pipe to the wing somehow.

Just watch out for low strong branches.

Cheers mate, yeh will see how it goes, but that rivnut kit is one of the best things i've bought, seriously tuff fixing, will trust that with roof bars when i get them :thumb2

Looking good dont think u will get far with that child attached

Ur a mean daddy making him hold that lol

Keep us up dated

haha, it was either him or gaffa tape and I couldn't find the gaffa tape :thumbs

Ok, so I've done the first fitting of this. I say 'first' as theres a few things i need to still do.

Couple of things I wasnt happy with either, hole cutter was tight on size, so i ended up doing it with jigsaw and its made a mess of the edge lol. I will put a U section seal/gasket around the hole anyway, to stop metal cutting the silicon due to movement and this will also neaten it up. Also I will move the hose clips around to bottom as they are prwtty dangerous on top and probably worth a pull by plod

Not sure about the angle of the safari top either. I think rain can get down it whilst standing, so i might get another pipe and have a slight bend put in the end to tilt the safari top forward

Other than this I'm happy with it, I think it looks pretty HARDCORE :D

looking good:thumbs

cheers mate

Actually I'm just going to face the intake to the rear, job done. It wont be sucking in insects or rain and you get no ram effect on a turbo as the turbo governs intake pressure

This is one of the many jobs on my t do list just finishing full length roof rack off ready for some camping trips and try to fit some play days in:thumbs
to much work and sleep getting in way:doh

not to bad there stinka looks beefy enough just not to sure on the silver and black combo

sure it will look better in person on sunday

good job tho:thumbs

black silicon hose looks more understated that red, yellow or green IMO

Don't get me wrong, If I had a 8k motor like yours then I wouldn't be diy-ing a snorkle together for it, but this will ensure I dont kill my engine in water :thumb2

I think I can safely say mine is a world away from that :lol

ok, finished for now. Turned top round so rain wont go down it whilst standing. might have a pipe bent so it faces straight up at correct angle, but might not as tbh this is better, due to intake being well inside width of vehicle and no chance of sucking up big water splashes thrown from wheels.

trimmed hole, looks tidy now, also put and extra clip on the front of the middle 45 degree hose, i put a hole in this and drilled wing behind, so this clip is rivnutted to body, no movement from snorkle now even at 90mph

also cut off the sticky out bits on the hose clips, less chance of plod moaning, although they still might moan lol

Finally finished this, got the top sitting correctly by adding a 45 degree bend. I'm pretty damn happy with it tbh 3" bore ftw :D
