Are they standard length? I thought you had Monroes at 2" longer, or something...

I'm not 100% about the length, I'm pretty desperate for new ones though!! I'm pretty sure they are standard length which I think will be ok, if not I'll make some 2" brackets so they match the 2" springs. Come to think of it the top mounts will be a right pain to deal with when changing the shocks over, I might just cut them off and weld new ones on 2 inches lower down, I need to measure new shocks compared to OE ones really. The standard shocks that are on now give plenty of travel though :nenau

I've found the shade of brown I'm going to paint my facia with, over a white primer it looks about right, try and imagine it with a walnut pattern :thumb2 Triumph-Russett brown, I had to have it with that name eh :D

Drop down shelf on tailgate mate

Most likely solution, the tailgate will have lots excess weight on when I put the steel wheels with new tyres on though cos I'm having a matching spare. The steel wheel by itself is very heavy and it will be wider once I get through with it, plus a 265 75 16 (11.2" wide 31.6" dia.) cooper discoverer on it. I don't really want a separate wheel carrier, I might make a support leg for the door for when its open :thumb2 what you guys reckon?

My tailgate suffers with a bit of drop with the Steelie on it.
It's my intention to shim the hinges to remove the play when the door is opened.

Mine has dropped with standard on so I'm expecting it to get worse with a bigger wheel and tyre, I have lifted mine back up a bit and is nearly right. I have to get a new tailgate anyway thanks to that rogue tree so who knows what I'll have to deal with, I reckon I'm gonna lift the spare a few inches though :thumb2

Weighed my truck today

I was at scrappies earlier with some copper and I thought I'd weigh me truck!

With the fuel needle just in the red and my usual cargo of tool box, recovery gear including two land anchors, the custom rack complete with its waffle boards and hi-lift jack and the sills I welded in probably weigh a smidgen more than standard ones, without me sat in she weighed innat a grand total of.........

Don’t do this :doh my bad eyes played tricks for a minute I thought it said you’d weighed it in

2160kg, I was surprised at first but when I thought about all the heavy stuff thats in or on it it seems about right

Mine is more than that, car and empty car trailer goes 2880 but trailer should only be around 450 so 2400 plus is what I hump around all the time, Rick

Rick, a lot of people on here have seen your truck in the flesh and I dare say the same amount of people are genuinely surprised that it is under 3000kg :lol :thumbs
