Hi everyone, been busy over the past few months and usual reliability of the old T2 means I've not been on here for a bit. Like a teenage son, I'm back in touch because I want something!
Jumped in the T2 yesterday and everything was as normal until I tried to start her. Glow plugs light came on, went off, etc.. Tuned key to the start pos. and all I get is a loud clunk from the engine bay which I assume is the starter solenoid. No attempt by the motor to spin.
So, it's dark, cold and damp every day and I don't want to spend more time under/over the beast to see what the problem is than I have to. What would be the best things to try first to suss out what the actual issue is? My battery is good and the day before she started as happily as can be.
I'm presuming trying to create a solid earth for the starter using a jump lead initially would be a good idea as I know earths can be problematic. what else should I check before getting a replacement starter, and any suggestions where to get one?
Cheers,
Craig.
