Speedo needle removal

I am planning to change my speedo face from mph to kph and have bought a used Micra speedo assembly from Germany (I'm assured the speedo face is the same one on a 1994 Micra as my 1994 T2).
Thing is, does anyone know how the speedo needle comes off? :nenau

In the T1, it is just a tight push fit on the shaft, so I would guess it is the same on the T2. Make sure you use something like a fork that fits snugly round the shaft though, as they bend/snap very easily.

A quick point:

If the needle stops on a rest (peg), you need to gently lift the needle over the rest to allow it to stop in it's "relaxed" position. Mark this position, replace the need in the same position and then lift it back over the needle rest otherwise you end up with an inaccurate speedo!

All that said I can't remember if the needle sits on a rest or not :doh

Hmm mm just a thought, is it possible to reposition a to speedo needle to more accurately display actual rather than dream speed

Not really, as the variance is not equal over the whole range, e.g, at 30mph, it is only 3mph out, but at 70, it's nearly 10mph out.

mine is pretty much the same across the range tbh, its 7mph regardless of speed.
