Hi, are these roads accessible to anybody at any time, ie turn up and go ?

What sort of damage to the car is likely?

What insurance do you need , or are these by-ways?

How do you find out about them?

Best regards,
Rustic

yep they are just green lanes,boats/by-ways so normal insurance is in place, their ar insurance companies like mine that cover lanes

damage at the worst is scratches unless you hit somthing or some one then maybe a dent

yes anyone can turn up them and drive them their is no restrictions on these ones apart from school lane which is restricted at school times, so you could go up their in a fiesta if you wanted to :doh

how i found out about the lanes or how to generally ?
i found them by using trailwise and via glass and the peak district site

you can find out about them a few ways as above and on wayfinder and glass and craig, also local knowledege

if you are thinking about going out always go out in 2's and a max of 5 per group, reason for pairs is if you do get any problems then you either have a lift or some one to help pull you out :thumbs

are you thinking of comming along ?

all the lanes are simple apart from monsal and if it is too bad we will bypass it as it is pointless getting into trouble if you can help it :thumbs

Very difficult to make commitments (family) at the moment, but sometimes when out and about its nice to go cross country legally.

We went around World's End near Llangollen a couple of years back, when the roads were covered in ice and snow, ok it's a public road, but the conditions were really bad and we had no problems in the mav, had salt, spade, plus a small tirfor type winch and 50 feet of rope, all stayed in the boot.
All the other stuff, blankets, food, water, map compass GPS etc

last trip out i didnt take anything with me but we didnt need it either

this time i am taking a tow rope, flask, blankets, gps both memory maps and sat nav and some pennies as last time i couldnt fond a cash machine on the run :doh

looks a good route Karl, sorry cant make it,

good luck though, sheffield has been pretty much cut
off today. i got to work in city centre 4wd all the way,
never saw clean asphelt, half of it was in low box too
using rear lock as necessary.

place was scene from post nuclear war, me few other
4x4s, ambulances and zombie pedestrians on road, buses
never came out of garage. so you're gonna have fun
in the sticks! all of whic is much higher ground.
