incidentally did you knock the CV's of the shaft to do it properly or are you talking about the stretch thingy's that will be totally useless, Rick

I didn't knock any shafts today and I didn't see any stretchy useless things either.

Ive got mine. and am hoping to fabricate a rail before I see you sunday then you can powder coat it for me:D:D:D:bow

was thinking of getting one of them led light bars but they are a bit pricey.
no problem powdercoating the rail for you:thumb2got a few bits to do for my self.

These cvs don't knock off, for me anyway. I remove the shaft, take the circlip of the tripod joi t and slip that off with its boot. Then slide new cv boot down the shaft, and assemble in reverse

Did you have to remove the CV joint from the hub or can it be left in place & just undo the bottom ball joint & swing the hub out off the shaft ? mine will need doing soon as they are starting to crack:(

We had 10 mins of sleet at 1pm ish

We had a huge hail storm, lasted about 15mins, and put about 1/2 inch of white stuff all over the car I was working on... I had to dive under the garage door, as it hurt...

My Wife texted me from Croydon to say they had a proper snow storm for a short time, it did not lay at all though.

I hate hail like that!!!! last time I experienced that I was on a snowmobile in a whiteout near Pingvallavatn Lake in Iceland, that hurt and was scary!!!!!
 
was driving my van in that hail storm didnt last long roll on 100 days of snow

Undo Bottom ball joint, circlip off end of cv, swing hub up, take shaft off completely
 
snow above 300 mtrs here tonight , its just said so on the news , so must be true .:rolleyes:
 
Not had any snow today but it's been cold enough for it:rolleyes: but we've had a large thunder storm with hail & a bit of sleet & none stop heavy rain, the burn just down the road looks as if it's going to burst it's banks again & all the roads are badly flooded so glad i've got a T2 again:thumbs
 
same here with the hail storm it was very intense and prolonged.
and the rain this morning was torrential and and made for a few small floods:D:D:D

looks like its going to be a bit muddy up the peak district this weekend:D
